Freezes and does not work well without wire

If you're looking for a scanner for typical business duties having a built-in battery and Bluetooth connectivity would be a game changer for productivity.This scanner from Alacrity can be used plugged in or wirelessly using Bluetooth or by using a 2.4ghz dongle that is supplied with the unit. I found that the scanner connected without issue to both my desktop iMac as well as my iPhone. I was not really surprised to find that the 2.4ghz dongle did not work with my desktop as that is something mostly found in the PC universe.I scanned dozens of various bar codes of products around my office and found the scanner missed only one case where the code was a bit smudged. You'll want to test the scanner with what codes you'll be normally scanning as there are many variations and side-case usages, so that if it doesn't work with your examples, you'll be within the return period.I'm not a big time users of scanners, but have had a wired scanner for many years for those times when I had specific uses. Having one that is wireless means I can keep it handy and find more uses, since there is no extra wire cluttering up my desk.I'm giving the scanner the full five stars as I feel that it offers good value for the money and covers the normal use-cases for these kinds of scanners. Of course if your needs are more heavy duty, you likely need a different unit, since the battery life of this is going to be limited and the distance it can transmit also limited.

I liked the scanner itself has a nice feel and was very responsive. However I was having issue with it reading correctly so thought maybe it was me. I did a control experiment to see what was going on. First scan worked perfect and information was accurate. However the same barcode the next 7 times produced different number combos each time with two error messages. Maybe it is my program but my old scanner worked perfect I just wanted to upgrade however it isn’t a good choice.

I can not figure out how to connect this device to anything, nor can I figure out how to turn it off. The instructions are non existent. I really wanted to love this for my home library.

It hooked up to my IPhone via Bluetooth very easily. Works great and I am impressed. Came with charging cord.

These cycle quickly and work great both with my iphone as well as my PC (make sure you have bluetooth because not all desktops do) This has been a true blessing in doing our monthly counts since they are able to scan super quickly.
