Really nice matcha
I've bought tea from Tea People before and have always liked it, but never tried their matcha & hojicha until they showed up on Amazon. The matcha works really well for lattes as it's bright & fresh, has the right amount of bitterness, and I think my unrefined palate tastes a bit of sweetness?? I've had matcha before that tastes a lot of like seaweed & grass and this is NOT that, which is what I'm looking for (since I wanted a matcha for lattes).Perfect for getting my day started.

Most versatile matcha
I bought this to make various latte drinks at home. It's so balanced and versatile. I usually drink it with oat milk and add some honey. It's the perfect latte and better than most cafes out there. It's also USDA organic which is even better since I'm drinking the whole leaf.

Bitter matcha
We make matcha lattes frequently and this one makes a dull green liquid that has a bitter overtone. It's not our favorite but it will do in a pinch. Better matcha powders are out there so I would skip this one.

Poor Quality and overpriced... Disappointed!
I usually use matcha for lattes (inspired by their sister company, Boba Guys), so I am not privy to how a good, traditional matcha should taste. However, I know this one is just not it. It is a dull green and extremely bitter. Other traditional matchas I've had were much smoother and had a vibrant color. Costco has a matcha that performs better than this, while being cheaper and comping with 12 oz instead of 1 oz. When buying this matcha, youre getting a brand name without any quality.

Great for smoothies, or hot drinks
Trying some new to me Matcha powder. It’s a different type. I thought it was culinary grade but it might be more like ceremonial grade though it really doesn’t say on the packaging. It doesn’t matter though as it will still work in smoothies. You can whisk it with a little bit of hot water and make a paste. Then add more hot water and whisk again for a hot drink. But for my smoothies I just add 1 teaspoon of this Matcha powder and it works great! This comes in a small tin as this is only 30 ounces of Matcha powder which won’t last me very long. My latest smoothie is a Cinnamon Apple Matcha Smoothie. This tastes similar to other Matcha powder I have used. Be sure to refrigerate once the container is opened to keep it fresh.Cinnamon Apple Matcha Smoothie made in my smoothie blending cup on my Vitamix so frozen goes in first, but I’ll list the usual order for most blenders… I hope you enjoy!1 cup organic unsweetened soy milk or other2 Tablespoons Greek style plant yogurt or other1 Tablespoon organic chia seeds1 Tablespoon organic hemp seeds1/4 teaspoon organic turmeric powder1 teaspoon organic ceylon cinnamon1 teaspoon Organic Premium Grade Tea People Matcha powder1 scoop organic vanilla plant protein powder1 fresh organic banana1 cup frozen organic baby spinach1/3 frozen organic apple in segmentsBlend well and enjoy!

Exceptionally smooth
I have tried a handful of ceremonial grade matchas, but this is my first time reviewing a premium grade. Apparently, this is the type of matcha used in many cafes. It is a step up from culinary grade, but not quite on par with ceremonial grade. Tea People Organic Matcha seems to be a higher quality premium grade.I don't like to use as much milk in my lattes as the recipe on the tin calls for, so I followed my usual preparation method. I use one teaspoon of matcha per six ounces of water and added a couple ounces of milk and a packet of stevia. I didn't sift the matcha, but I used a handheld milk frother for mixing. It can be a bit clumpy if not mixed well, which is actually a good sign of quality. This made an extremely smooth matcha latte. I would also drink this tea without milk and still find the flavor very smooth (my photo is without milk). This lacks some of the flavor nuances I've come to appreciate from ceremonial grade. My favorites are a bit more sweet or grassy. But, this was very enjoyable as well.I think it comes down to taste preference and price. At $25 for 30g (1.05 oz), this is actually a bit pricier than a couple of my favorite ceremonial grades. But, it is better than a couple of products I've had which were sold as ceremonial grade at a similar price. If you value a very smooth taste and an organic product, this might be worth it to you. And, it comes in a cute tin that helps keep it fresh and would be nice for gifting.

smooth, lacks a bit of sharpness
This matcha has what I'd call a "soft" flavor to it compared to some more verdant/grassy-flavored matcha. It's so smooth as to feel that it's missing a little something that I come to expect in matcha. I think it could be a bit more bitter, actually, but it still has a nice flavor with both earthy and grassy notes. The color is appealing as is the aroma, though it's not as vibrant as some other types. This worked well for me in lattes as well as regular tea made by just adding hot water, but I liked it better in lattes as I think the sweetener I add brings out more of the sweet, grassy notes I come to expect from matcha. It is well-packed in a vacuum bag inside the tin and is potent enough that a small portion makes a good tea.
