Lakeland Heavy Duty Double Oven Gloves

Having purchased other lakeland products in the past and been impressed with the quality I thought I'd give these a try. When they arrived I was worried they might be too thin and not protect from the heat as well as hoped but actually they do a great job. Very little to no heat transfer but they are flexible enough to get a good grip on the pot too. Very happy with them.

Functionally these make a great pair of oven gloves, they offer good heat resistance on the mitts and the arm covers have prevented nasty burns on a couple of occasions taking cast iron cookware out of a hot oven. So they’re spot on for the price. Only problem is they look cheap, and the weave of the material makes them look dirty even after a wash - so I tend to keep them hidden away in a cupboard.

Looking to buy these my questions might be: Q: How heat-resistant are these? A: I've used a lot of different oven gloves over the years and these are by far the best I have found. Q: Do they also protect the back of your hands adequately? A: Yes, the hand is also covered with a double thickness of fabric. I have used other gloves where the back of the hand is only covered with a single thickness and know how easy it is to get burns when brushing against oven shelves etc. Not a problem with these. Q: Can you feel what you are doing while wearing these? A: Well ... so, so. Because of the thickness this is a problem as it would be with any good gloves with really good protection. That said, I would say in this respect, they are as good as any other. Q: Would you buy these again? A: Yes! And I have! I bought one pair, and liked them so much I bought two further pairs in this order for future use (also in case I can't buy these again in the later).

This product is excellent - you really can take a very hot casserole dish straight from the oven and take it over the work surface without feeling any heat through the gloves. I have been so pleased with these that I have bought more to give to my friends. So do recommend this product.

Although they are sturdy ,will protect you from burns and feel durable they only get 3* because they are difficult to use. These are really big oven gloves and they are also quite inflexible . I have small hands and arthritis and whilst I am less likely to be burnt I am much more likely to drop what I am removing from the oven! I am not able to grip the dishes easily because of the lack of flexibility. I washed them before using to see if they would shrink and became softer but they didn’t .

Very good quality. Heavy duty. Hands are wrists are well covered. Copes with very high temperatures. Can't assess the durability yet but I think they are so well made, they should last a fair while.

These gloves are too large for my average sized woman’s hands. They are so big that it’s tricky to grab hold of a dish in the oven and pull it out safely. The same for baking sheets. Impossible to get a grip. And in hindsight they’re not a very practical colour, they look dirty after a week of using them. Yes they are well made and nice quality but no good for me due to the size. Would probably be great for someone with large hands.

Excellent oven gloves, I’ve been buying these for years. Really good quality, the last pair I bought was 6 years ago! Wash really well, no heat gets through and great size.
