Use it correctly and see awesome results
When I started distilling at home, I used Turbo Yeast, mostly because it seems easy. I've read some reviews of the DADY that say it's not working very well for them, and at first I had the same experience with it. It was leaving me with an under fermented product that I thought I'd just have to deal with to have a better tasting product with fewer nasties.Over time however, I have realized that this yeast just needs more care than a turbo yeast, and with that care, you can have an alcohol level the same or better than a ferment with Turbo Yeast. Here's how: First, if you are storing your DADY in the fridge, make sure you take the amount you are going to use for your ferment out of the fridge with enough time to let it warm to room temp at least. My room temp in the tropics is 28, and it warms to that quickly. This yeast is very temperature sensitive so you want to follow these instructions well.Second, it's best to rehydrate the yeast before adding it to your mash. I normally use brown sugar but at times will use Yucca or Raspadura. To rehydrate, I add 8 - 10 tablespoons of yeast to a tablespoon of Fermax yeast nutrient, a teaspoon of brown sugar, and about a cup of water. The water must be 35 degress Celcius (+/- 3 degrees) for best results. I then stir for an hour. Yes, an hour. You will now have a creamy yeast liquid that is primed and ready to start fermenting your mash the instant it is added.Third important point: The mash. I use 6 KG of brown suger to 5ish gallons of water (total 6 gallon ferment). I also add 8 - 10 teaspoons of Fermax Yeast Nutrient. This is important because it's what allows the DADY Yeast to act like a turbo yeast. The temperature should be 30 - 32 degrees Celcius when you pitch your yeast and the mash should be well stirred and oxygenated. You can airlock the mash immediately once the yeast is pitched. There should be plenty of oxygen in the mixture as long as you have prepared it in the last hour or so.Follow these instructions and your fermentation will blast off! The activity is the same or better than the Turbo Yeast, and the taste and smell, although not perfect, is much better, and cheaper!

No issues reactivating!
Packages arrived sealed in foil with resealable zipper. Used 3 teaspoons in 100ml of boiled water cooled to 90f, undisturbed for 15 min, then gently stirred and another 5 minute rest. Yeast was very active and healthy, pitched in 80f.Looks like it's a healthy and vibrant batch. Dont forget to use a little nutrient if needed.
