Barfly Aluminum Juicer

Very nice addition to my bar. Heavy duty solid metal juicer.

It's pretty, functional, sturdy, and works. Great buy.As a side note, even though it'd be pretty ugly, I kind of wish juicers had a "bowl" shape protruding off the top down past the opening, so any juice spurting out from the sides would be captured and fall down into the container you're juicing into. My lime juice is precious and I want all of it in my margarita!

It is adequate for limes and small lemons. Not large enough for oranges or grapefruit.

I love this heavy duty citrus press. It works well and looks great. Yes...I read the reviews about the finish. For those of you placing the item in the dishwasher, you don't deserve such quality. I expect the nice shinny finish will eventually fade, and I am looking forward to it. The first time I came across a press/juicer like this, it had a worn look from years of use. This is what attracted me to the press. Stop placing so much emphasis on outward appearance, this is a great tool to have in the kitchen.

TLDNR: I'm shocked that the average rating of this product is so high. Bowl is too small and shallow to hold reasonably sized limes/lemons properly and keep juice from leaking out the sides.So, as others have mentioned, the bowl in which the lime is supposed to sit is far too shallow. One has to awkwardly hold the lime in place so that it doesn't slip out while pressing down and juice is very likely to leak out of the sides. This makes the juicer borderline unusable. It is also way too small for use with lemons, which is a major limitation. On top of that, it may seem slight, but the square shape of the handles make it not very ergonomic either and not pleasant to squeeze with full force.I don't understand the high average rating at all. It makes me think that many people purchasing this have never owned a handheld juicer before to compare it to. There are many stainless steel juicers out there for less money that are way more practical to use.This is a letdown from Barfly, who otherwise makes pretty nice products, in my opinion.

It's a sturdy juicer, and if you happen to have relatively small limes it works great. It is bafflingly undersized though, larger limes and most lemons will be too big to comfortably fit in it without squirting juice out the sides. Forget anything bigger than a lemon, of course.It also needs to be handwashed (see other reviews for some horror stories about how the aluminum reacts with the unforgiving nature of a dishwasher), and while the "business end" is fairly quick and easy to clean, there are a lot of nooks and crannies where stuff can end up sitting all around the handles due to the cast design.I ended up getting a similar style juicer (but much larger) from a competitor that I use for most things. I only take this out for the smallest limes because I'm too stubborn to have thrown it away yet. Disappointed overall, it'd be fine if it was just a little bigger.

When I first purchased this, I kept thinking there's no way when I squeeze limes in this thing that it won't shoot out of the sides and all over everything...Boy was I wrong! This is literally no mess and easy to use...I've only used it for lemons and limes but it makes getting juice out a breeze and leaves the fruit in a puck shape to dispose. Will be a staple on my bar cart for years to come!
