Prospectors Coal Mine Matte Clay Pomade 4 oz. Tin Can

My go-to for hair styling. Nice scent, no sticky residue, easy to apply and good hold for my hair. Lasts all day and does everything I need from a pomade. Great value for the money and one of the few items that stays in my reorder cart.

This stuff is awesome. It has a great scent with a workable hold. It has a Matt finish, which is important to me and I haven’t had any flakes or buildup from it. And also cleans up very easily with water. I prefer it over oil based I think this is gonna be my now go to. The only negative thing I can say about it is that why I like the look of the packaging it can be very difficult to open. Yes it made me cuss on multiple occasions

Prospectors Coal Mine Pomade doesn’t hold your hair. It enslaves it. I scooped a bit out and felt like I was handling industrial waste blessed by the devil himself. The texture? Like wet cement with ambition. The scent? A haunted lumberjack sipping matcha in a burning forest. Once applied, my hair stopped rebelling and started plotting. It holds all day—through sweat, sin, and existential dread. Even after a shower, my follicles whispered, “We’re not done.” It’s matte, powerful, and smells like you just buried your regrets under a cedar tree. Five stars. Would trade my soul again for that finish.

It is a good quality Clay Pomade, great smooth hold that will last throughout the day. It is a good value considering it is a 4.5 oz tin. The quality and attention to detail of Prospectors keep me coming back since it is one of the most elaborate designs out there. I would have given it a 5-star review, but the only things that turns me off is the smell, I really wish they would have gone with no scent at all, it kind of smells like Dawn dish soap. Please correct me if I'm wrong but it kind of keeps me from using it on a night out.

This is by far the best pomade that I have ever used, and I have tried a lot. I have very thick hair that needs a lot of hold to stay manageable all day without drooping. I prefer a matte finish without a sweet perfume or artificial scent; and I swear by products with actual clay (bentonite) as a primary component, with less artificial chemicals. I was a little concerned that the Coal Mine Clay would not have enough hold, given it is advertised as medium hold, but that is an understatement...this has much more hold than other products that claim high hold. This is a thick, water-based, clay that becomes less viscous when rubbed between your hands to make it easy to apply. It feels bit dry when you apply it, and you can feel it 'grab' your hair. It is easy to style, and sets up rapidly, without becoming stiff - it remains pliable, but keeps your hair supported. The clay is also good for your hair, and the pomade also contains hemp oil, which gives it a present aroma and is also healthy for the hair and scalp. It has an understated, earthy scent, with a bit of hemp and woody aroma. I definitely don't get the dish soap suggested in another review. My wife really likes the scent - and says it is 'manly'. I used to use Boogies Casual Hair Clay from Dollar Shave Club, which is a good clay based pomade, but ordering was a pain, and it was a bit expensive. I have subsequently tried about two dozen other pomades, particularly those advertised as clays and matte finish. Very few have actual clay, and even if they do then it is not a major ingredient. Many end up being more waxy or greasy, with less hold, and too much perfume. Give this a try, and you'll be hooked.

I love this stuff! A little goes a long way and this lasts me 3 months. I use it on my hair and beard and it lasts all day. Word of warning tho, do not use it for your mustache. It does not taste as good as it holds. Your girl will not enjoy kissing you if it gets in her mouth... Or maybe she will, idk what she's into.

I love this pomade. It gives a solid hold and had a matte finish that doesn't look greasy. It's soft and easy to apply and has a nice subtle scent.

This is by far the best hair product I've used, after trying plenty of different matte clays/pomades over the years. I've been using Suavecito for the past several years but this product just has it beat for how natural it makes my hair look. It's a little bit more of a clay product rather than a pomade. It works into the hair very easy without leaving a visible trace and a little bit goes a long way. It smells good, kinda like a new leathery scent, but he best part is how easily it washes out with even just hot water. The only thing I don't like is how difficult it can be to open up the container! I wish it had some little thing like they have on shoe polish cans to get it open, but even with this difficulty it's more than worth it. I really don't anticipate using anything else for a long while.

Très bonne pommade à la texture argileuse, ma préférée en finition matte , très bonne tenue sur des cheveux fins même en cas de vent. Elle est aussi facile à laver, pas de résidu. 1 étoile pour alerter Amazon que la fiche produit n'est pas à jour, depuis 2019 le packaging à évolué , il est devenu gris clair, et surtout la contenance est passée de 128 g (4,5 oz) à 113 g (4,0 oz) le prix a suivi puisque il était avant un peu plus cher chez un autre vendeur mais attention quand même il y a une erreur sur la fiche produit, je reverrai ma notation si amazon met à jour la fiche, le vendeur tier ayant déjà été averti.

Es de las mejores ceras que he probado y he probado muchas ceras , para el cabello un poco largo está genial ya sea húmedo o seco funciona muy bien . No te deja el cabello grasoso , cuando lo pones es un poco brilloso y ya si lo empiezas a mover se vuelve mate

Buena textura, fijación y calidad aunque el aroma muy ekis

Huele bien, no deja residuos y tiene una textura cremosa agradable. Sin embargo yo prefiero una textura más arcillosa y que fuese aún menos brillosa. No es para mi, así que no la volveré a comprar, pero le dejo las 5 estrella porque quiero ser justo, a otros les puede funcionar.
