There’s a knack to using this tape...
Overall this tape is both strong and of good quality as well as being low noise when dispensing it.I have found a couple of tricks you need to do to really make it perform well.Use a tape roll dispenser. First doing so is easier in general - but crucially you need to press the tape hard against the cardboard surface if you’re packing boxes. The roller on a packing tape dispenser does a lot of this for you - but you’ll still need to ensure that the start and finishing ends of a strip of tape are making good contact with the surface.I go over the strips with a duster - pressing firmly so there are no air bubbles or gaps between the tape and the surface.Where possible I would recommend you do a complete circuit of tape - meaning your end piece has gone all the way around the box once and overlaps where you began. The tape on tape adhesion will always be stronger than simply to cardboard. Finally if you have fished out some boxes from your attic or garage or procured some that were in the recycling bin - make sure you give them a quick dust with a cloth - just to get rid of any layers of dust that would lessen the stickiness of the tape.Doing the above makes this tape a winner and it really doesn’t take much more effort than the process of making up and dealing boxes would anyways.Unlike some cheaper tapes - I didn’t find that the scotch tape tore. I was also pleased to see that there’s really quite a lot on each roll and it goes a long way.The low-noise quality of the tape is sensible for many reasons - the sound of some tapes being unravelled can sometimes be deafening - but more importantly it means you’re not announcing to your street and the world at large that you’re packing all your valuables and getting ready to move - which from a security point of view is a massive plus.Hope this helps.

Brilliant Although I Am Ashamed To Say It Took Me A Moment To Figure Out
I had a look at a number of packaging dispensers and they do vary in price. I read some reviews that questioned the robustness of some of the cheaper varieties and decided to go with tried and tested. I was not disappointed.Once I opened the plastic packaging, I could feel the quality from this weighty product. now it was here I took a moment. There's a safety guard and I had no idea how to feed in the tape. I originally went over the safety guard before I realised it had to be threaded through the metal slip at the bottom as shown in my picture. I couldn't see a picture on the product description and as it's clearly obvious, there are no instructions. So I've posted the pictures if like me you need a little prompting.

is it worth the extra... for peace of mind I think so
£25 at time of reviewNot cheap, but it's a well known brand so you expect it to last years and work well. yes you can get cheaper non-brand ones, which are probably just as good, but there's really no way of knowing, so I bit the bullet and paid the extra. So far so good!Hope my review was helpful

Works beautifully
This tape gun is excellent. Used it when moving house. It was sturdy, reliable, and very easy to use. Beware the teeth though, they are incredibly sharp - but that's the point! So glad I bought this, it has the feel of something that will last a long time.

Gets you out of sticky situations
We tried the rest, and this is the best!!If you scroll through tape dispensers on Amazon, they all look like the same patented design. So if one is awful, they’ll all be awful - right?Wrong. The last one we tried was appalling. The tape stuck to the dispenser itself. You had to hold it while you rolled it out. And when you tried to tear it, chances were you’d ping the roll off and have to spool back half a meter of tape. It’s literally quicker to use scissors, especially since it takes two of you to use it.This one is the polar opposite. Smooth and stable rolling with an effective cutting action. We could work out if it was the dispenser or the tape that made the difference in the end, but with 50 boxes to wrap, we didn’t care. For the sake of your sanity, spend a little extra. Or get the scissors out!

Not for me and returning it
I pack a lot of parcels of varying sizes, and thought a dispenser like this would make it faster and simpler. I was very wrong.Firstly there are no instructions whatsoever, so you will need to google a video online to get set up(unless you've used one before). I've always used Scotch parcel tape, so I had no fears on the tape, but I found the dispenser, awkward, clumsy and inconsistent, no matter how I changed the tension wheel. The feed is awful, requiring to tab the tape down to begin with, before it will roll on the box, and that puts you far too close to the very sharp cutting blade. I nearly stabbed my fingers on that twice. Another feature, or lack of, is a guard to cover the blade when it's not in use. It's just a very expensive blob of plastic and metal, and takes a lot longer to pack my parcels than how I was doing it before. I've looked at numerous videos to try various techniques and it is still a pile of pants.I'm wondering if I actually have a faulty one. I'm returning it anyway. Or if it's just only good on large standard parcels. It really wasn't for me.
