I love this shampoo bar! Completely unscented, lathers as well as the most expensive shampoo and left my hair clean and soft. It was also easy to comb out my hair after washing. I love that this is cruelty free, free of plastic and free of any perfume. I also found that I did not lose as much hair when using this. Highly recommend and will be buying more!

Love this shampoo. Takes a while to get used to it but my hair feels thicker and the drain is not clogged with hair as barely any falls out anymore.

Kitsch 2-in-1 Ultra Sensitive Shampoo & Body Wash Bar (3.2 oz, Fragrance-Free): Gentle, Eco-Friendly, and Ideal for Sensitive Skin I recently tried the Kitsch 2-in-1 Ultra Sensitive Shampoo & Body Wash Bar (3.2 oz, Fragrance-Free) to simplify my shower routine and reduce plastic waste, and it’s been a fantastic addition, especially for my sensitive skin and scalp. This vegan, biodegradable bar is designed for those with allergies or sensitivities, and it delivers on its promise of gentle, effective cleansing with a few minor caveats. Ease of Use: 4.5/5 Using the Kitsch bar is straightforward. You wet your hair and skin, rub the bar between your hands to create a rich lather, or “paint” it directly onto your scalp and body, then massage and rinse. I found the lather surprisingly luxurious for a five-ingredient product, and it cleans thoroughly without needing much product. The bar’s travel-friendly design is a big plus—it’s TSA-compliant, saving space in my gym bag or carry-on, as noted on Kitsch’s site. My only gripe is that the bar can get slippery, so I recommend the Kitsch mesh soap saver bag (sold separately) to prevent dropping and extend its life, as suggested by reviewers. Performance and Effectiveness: 4.5/5 This bar excels at cleansing both hair and body without irritation. Formulated with just five ingredients—Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate, Vegetable Glycerin, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, and Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride—it’s free of parabens, phthalates, silicones, sulfates, colorants, and fragrances, making it hypoallergenic and safe for sensitive scalps and skin. My dry, eczema-prone skin felt hydrated and smooth post-shower, and my scalp, which often itches with other shampoos, stayed calm and flake-free. Amazon reviewers with psoriasis or dermatitis rave about its soothing effects, with one saying, “No itch, amazed and so happy!” For hair, it left my fine, wavy strands clean and manageable, though I needed a separate conditioner for extra softness, as some users noted it can leave hair slightly dry without one. Sustainability and Packaging: 5/5 The eco-friendly aspect is a major draw. Each bar replaces two bottles of liquid shampoo or body wash, reducing plastic waste, and Kitsch’s partnership with 4ocean removes the equivalent of one plastic bottle from oceans per bar purchased. The biodegradable bar comes in recyclable cardboard packaging, aligning with zero-waste goals. Reddit users appreciate its longevity, with one noting it lasts about three months with twice-weekly washes for medium-length hair. I’ve used mine for a month (washing 3–4 times weekly), and it’s barely diminished, especially when stored dry in a mesh bag. Comfort and Sensitivity: 4/5 The fragrance-free formula is a godsend for allergy sufferers like me. It’s truly unscented, unlike some “unscented” products with faint chemical odors, and it didn’t trigger my eczema or scalp sensitivity. Customers with sensitive skin, including a 66-year-old reviewer, praise its non-drying, residue-free finish. However, one SkinSafe user reported contact dermatitis despite its hypoallergenic claims, suggesting rare reactions are possible. I experienced no irritation, but those with severe sensitivities should patch-test first. The bar’s texture can harden if exposed to water between uses, as a Reddit user noted, so proper storage is key to avoid cracking or snagging hair. Value for Money: 4.5/5 Priced around $14 (or $11.90 with a subscription), the bar is cost-effective, lasting 50–100 washes, equivalent to 2–3 bottles of liquid shampoo. With a 4.9-star average from 239 Kitsch reviews and strong Amazon feedback, users call it “a must” for sensitive skin and travel. Compared to Lush or Ethique bars, it’s competitively priced and performs similarly, though some Reddit users prefer Ethique for curly hair. The only drawback is that those with very dry hair may need a conditioner, adding to the cost. Final Verdict: The Kitsch 2-in-1 Ultra Sensitive Shampoo & Body Wash Bar is a stellar choice for eco-conscious folks with sensitive skin or scalps. Its gentle, five-ingredient formula cleans effectively, lathers richly, and leaves skin and hair feeling nourished without irritation. The eco-friendly packaging and travel convenience are huge wins, though proper storage and occasional conditioner use are needed for optimal results. I highly recommend it for anyone seeking a sustainable, gentle cleansing solution, especially for travel or sensitive skin types. Just store it dry and consider the mesh bag for longevity.

I’m giving this 5 stars because it’s perfect for its purpose as a gentle, low-tox bar. It lathers sufficiently, cleans well, doesn’t dry my hair or sensitive skin out, doesn’t sting, and has no fragrance. My hair is shoulder length, and I don’t need conditioner with this. It helps to rinse with cold water. (I will put a little balm on the ends as a leave-in if it’s really dry out.) This bar lasts a long time. So, now I just have this one simple bar in the shower, and it’s handy for travel. I did a rudimentary pH test on it, and it was neutral as they claim (7). I also checked the ingredients on the EWG database. Honestly, everyone should be using this type of low-chemical product. I can highly recommend it and plan to keep buying it. Note: Any shampoo bar will “melt” and not last long if allowed to sit in water, so you need a soap dish that elevates the bar. I use a silicone version by Yamazaki that has little points to rest the bar on. Or, you can hang the bar in the mesh bag sold by Kitsch.
