I can't believe what a difference this product made for me! I've always had very fine, thin hair and have always had a spot right in the front where the hairline is a little uneven and extra thin. Depending on how I wear my hair, you can almost see my scalp in certain areas so I always shied away from wearing my hair up because I didn't want to be able to see that spot. I had tried using eyeshadow that was close to the color of my hair to fill in that area, but it just didn't work well. I wish I had tried this product sooner! It is so easy to use, looks totally natural and gave me back the confidence I needed to wear my hair up. It would also be great if you find your part is getting a little wider as you get older. The sponge applicator is super easy to use and the little brush is also helpful in certain areas. I have darker blonde hair and wasn't entirely sure what color to get for the best match, the blonde colors available looked like they just wouldn't quite match my hair or they were too warm. In the end I decided to go with the light brown and am glad I did, it's a perfect match. This is the only color I've tried, but I have a feeling all the colors are probably pretty forgiving even if you don't see one that's an exact match.

First time I've ever had to purchase this type of product and it's very effective. I have a double crown that has thinned over the past few years and with a couple of taps of this root cover up it looks a thousand percent better when my hair separates. I chose this product after a lot of research and decided it appeared to be the easiest to apply and I was right. My friend had a spray root cover up that I had tried once and that was not an option for me as my hair separates in the back and sprays are hard to navigate. It also covers up the gray 100%.

I've got dark ash blonde hair with gray highlights. It's fine and thin, so I'm using this to color my scalp under the hair, which gives the illusion that I have more hair. But the product really needs to match the color of the hair well for the illusion to work. So I bought both the dark blond and the light brown. The light brown works perfectly, because it has cool undertones (like ash colored hair), whereas the dark blond has warm undertones, so I can see it sitting on my hair and scalp. The dark blond doesn't blend in at all. I think it might work for honey blond (maybe), but not at all for ash blond. I'm glad that I bought 2 colors so I could find the right one. That said, the illusion is only an illusion. The photos on the product page are misleading. They make it look like there's actually more hair once the product is applied. This isn't hair fibers, only scalp foundation. They've photoshopped those pictures, so you shouldn't expect it to look as good as what they show. (The deceptive photos are why I gave this 4 stars instead of 5.) For my hair, using a scalp foundation is a major improvement, so I don't know why they needed to put up deceptive photos. Before I bought this, I bought an expensive scalp foundation that cost $60 for a slightly smaller amount. This works just as well; in fact I like the applicator better, and they give you a small brush as well, which can be used for eyebrows. The expensive scalp foundation does have nicer packaging, but packaging isn't worth $50, so I'm very glad to have found this.

This is a great product for thinning hair and grey roots! I've tried using the Loreal spray and it's so messy; it goes all over the place. I saw this powder and thought I'd give it a try. I love it! You put it where you want it, and it stays for days! I wash my hair about every 4 days (no oil, I'm lucky) and the product was still there on my scalp and roots after dabbing it on days before! The color was perfect for my medium/light brown hair. My hair has been thinning in the front (I'm getting older) so I gave this a try. Very pleased!! It also covered my grey roots coming in (until I can get my retouch done). So much better than the spray products you'll find in the stores. Try it, you'll love it!

I noticed that Amazon does sell the color root stick that I used to buy in stores but stores no longer carry it. I will go back to that. This had good reviews but I was disappointed. You need to keep adding powder a lot to your hair to cover the grey. The powder falls into the sink and around the counters. Its messy but easy to clean up. When I looked in the mirror the powder mixes with my brown hair and it looks like a dirty grey color instead of brown. Will not buy again

It covers perfectly! My go to touch up hair color for when I don’t have time to color hair. Would highly recommend it once you find the perfect shade.

My hair has thinned from weight loss and I’m very self conscious about it. My coworker highly recommended this product. I have used topik shake on powder in the past and it was just so so. This root touch up powder has a better color match, easier to apply exactly where you want it and stays on until you remove it. Good price too!

I’m shocked that this product doesn’t have better reviews, it has everything you want as a coverage powder! I’ve tried many, and this is by far the best one. It covers grey (at least this light brown color) but also, my scalp doesn’t get itchy, I basically don’t even notice it’s there, even on the next day, for me that’s a huge plus! Another great thing is the fact that it doesn’t transfer at all! Even when you scratch your head, no brown under fingernails. This is my absolute favorite color touch up! A little tip when applying, I use a medium size foundation brush instead of the tiny brush that comes with it, makes a world of difference!
