NKJV, MacArthur Study Bible, Large Print, Hardcover: Unleashing God's Truth One Verse at a Time (Holy Bible, New King James Version)

I had the same King James Bible for many years. I thought I would try a study Bible and bough this one. I’m thrilled with it. The commentary that follows each verse is incredible. It educates you and clears up all my questions. It makes the Bible come alive for me. I would recommend the word of God and this Bible.

This really is a great study bible with a myriad of study-text footnotes, graphs, tables and maps. Although the footnote text font is smaller, it is still large enough to read; at least, larger than many standard versions. The only negative: It has been (and still is) hard to find a protective cover to accommodate the unique size of this Bible. It is thick, and the 2.5" dimension stated in the description is relatively valid, but in a more relaxed state it's nearly 2.75" thick. I think due to it's size and relative weight, I will be more inclined to keep it at home; not necessarily bring it to church with me. Overall, it is very well organized and is definitely my favorite bible. I'm not a traditional KJ version fan, but the NKJ is actually a great translation, accurate and very easy to understand.

My second one- my first one is falling apart. Went with the larger print one as my eyes aren't what they used to be. The notes are better than ever with the latest update. I recommend any of the MacArthur Study Bibles for someone wanting to get more out of The Word.

John MacArthur by God's beyond Amazing Grace has done a beyond great job of putting this Study Bible together and I have been learning so much about The Bible every day I read it and his footnotes are beyond great and they are helping me learn and understand The Bible so much and his key points in his footnotes line up Beyond Perfectly with the Scriptures and John MacArthur is a true warrior for Christ and I beyond highly recommend you and I triple dog dare you to buy one these Study Bibles and trust me you will learn so much and that you never seen it coming. I beyond highly recommend this Bible it's by far the best Bible I ever had and once my current copy goes bad and falls apart I'm ordering a new copy no doubt about it and it's my favorite Bible of all time. I can't wait to use my copy for many, many, many years to come.

I have around 20 bibles, and am an avid student of scripture, and have been for over 50 years. I read through the entire bible approximately four times a year, reading three times a day, 4 chapters at a time, or 12 chapter or more daily. That's about 15 minutes per sitting, morning, afternoon, and before bed - which is less than an hour of my day. I have several study bibles: Ryrie, NKJV, ESV, etc. But this new MacArthur/NKJV I really like. It's a good study bible, but at my age, my eyes aren't what they used to be, and with its 12-point font I can actually read it without glasses and don't get eye strain. If you want a top-shelf study bible, and don't want to squint - this one fits the bill.

I have brought many study Bibles these past few months and I can tell you this Bible is a must have.

I so badly wanted to leave 5 stars but unfortunately its not worth 5 stars. But that by no means says this is a bad Bible. Here are some of the pros and cons -- and believe me, you will run into these pros and cons with all Bibles. First of all, the text size print is not too small? I've read a few complaints about the print size but its definitely not tiny print. I read it just fine. The font size for the notes is small but that's what you always get with a study Bible. Very little bleed through. Its an easy reading Bible and not hard on the eyes. So the readability is good. Secondly, no words in red. I prefer words in read but will not make too big a fuss if its not words in red. This will be up to you if you can look past this Bible not having Christ's words in red. Third, Gospel centered! A great Bible to understand why we are Christians and Who God is. This is the Bible's strongest point in my opinion. Forth, John MacAurther is no flat earther and provides globe earth analysis. The downside is that like most Protestants weened on the KJV, he's missing a whole slew of globe earth verses. But all other study Bibles miss them as well. Six, Duet. 30:1-10; Isaiah 60:1-10 are not within MacAuther's grasp to understand. He gets part of Duet.30:-1-10 correct but does not seem to yet have a full understanding of it. Seventh, If you treat this Bible well and keep it in the case it comes in it should last for a while. It only has one ribbon marker when it should have at least two. All in all this Bible is good for those who engage in active Bible studies. Its not the all subject Bible but no study Bible has it all. I think its definitely one of the better study Bibles on the market.

This Study Bible doesn't seem to be available in the KJV version, only the NKJV with the two being very different - some meanings are changed and so on. So if you study with this bible be sure to use something like the online BibleGateway app when it talks about important or contested issues - in addition to this book. The spine binding does NOT appear to be sewn. So I don't know how long it will last - time will tell. Typically high quality glued spine bindings only last 8 to 10 years under heavy use - and maybe double that for light or casual use. Sewn bindings can last hundreds of years - even under heavy use. For the price, this book should have a sewn binding IMO. These two reasons are why I gave it only 3 stars. I would have given it only 2 stars for the VERY long shipping times but the shipper (seller) was very clear and honest that it would take over a month to arrive. The actual study portions of this edition are said to be the very best by several Bible Scholars and Theologians who practice Christianity directly from the Bible or who attend/Pastor a "Bible Teaching Church" - which IMO is the best way to practice the faith. All in all, I can recommend this Bible after you have read the above.

Love it. Makes my interpretations of the bible easier. Introduced to me by my patient who had a copy.

Totally worth the money. Wonderful all-round teaching Bible. Large print is a special bonus.
