I have a 8 inch knife in it now. But note, it does not have the velvet like inner surface. It’s just a tight protection sleeve. **Q: Will this fit a 8” chef knife by miyabi mizu sg2 series?** A: It should yes. Fits my Shun Kaji 8” with room to spare **Q: does this have friction fit for mercer genesis 8 inch?** A: Nope just slides in and out. If you turn it upside down without peg it will fall out. Peg is nice and snug though **Q: Would this fit a 8" chef knife from Misen?** A: It’s not guaranteed to fit all 8” Chef Knives, I had to take some sandpaper to get the sheath to fit my knife. Would not fit my Wusthof chef knife because the spine is too thick but I was purchasing it for the Swedish Dragon regardless. I added a few coats of lemon oil to protect the wood.
