Building Blockchain Projects: Building decentralized Blockchain applications with Ethereum and Solidity

Doesn't worth its price. The explanation for the most important technical topics are very perfunctory, without proper examples. Can you imagine an explanation of the blockchain algorithm work without a single code example? You can find it in this book. I also found some copy-pasting from official docs. After reading few topics about solidity I found myself reading the same chapter few times again and again because I couldn't understand it, and I decided to take a look at the official Solidity documentation. I found few paragraph copy-pasted to the book even keeping the punctuation. Very often you can feel that author is not a native speaker, and you struggle to get meaning of a sentence. So overall, my recommendations are: - if you want to learn Solidity, then just read official documentation. It is very nice and understandable, doesn't miss very important topics - if you want to learn about blockchain, then there are much more better books. I recommend the "Mastering the bitcoin" that has very interesting explanation with code examples. After that book you start understand how it works under the hood. - if you want to learn web3.js then may be this book is fine. But it doesn't cover how your Dapp will interact with your browser, so after reading this book I had to learn more from other articles and tutorials in order to use this skills in practise. This book gives you skills that you can't use in practise. Sorry.

The book so far is what I hoped it to be and I’m only half way through. Some topics have brief explanations and you must follow the provided link for more and if one isn’t listed search Google. I’m reading on mobile device at times but I recommend going band and follow the code examples. You can’t progress into the next chapter or fully understand what’s happening without doing so.

Initially I taught this book is a big waste of money as it does not cover minute concepts in details. To read this book one has to be aware of all the low level details of Bitcoin at least. Otherwise this book will be difficult to understand. If you have knowledge of bitcoin this book is a gem. It touches upon all the Ethereum topics and provide short and crisp description. Excellent book for front end developers. However it expects you to know the concepts of MEAN stack development. Also there are not many books in Market on Ethereum so we can ignore small typo etc for overall concepts covered.

pleasantly surprised at the contents of the book. I would recommend this to a technical audience who are looking for learning how to program and coding experience from this book. If you are looking for broad conceptual overview then you should consider other books and that may be the reason why some folks did not like this book or gave bad reviews.
