Opticron 57519 LED Magnifier, Black, 10x26mm

This Opticron 57520 15x21mm LED Hand Magnifier is fantastic. It's the best 'hand lens' I've ever used, especially for plants - flowers, leaves, stems - and little insects - larvae, beetles, caterpillars. The LED light show up some beautiful colours one would never see with an ordinary magnifying glass. Battery operated (be careful not to bump the switch when putting away in case), and it fits easily in a pocket.

The X15 version is excellent for the price , it arrived in 3 days and I have looked at fabulous closeups of all manner of items and plants around the house. I look forward to taking it out on a field trip. It doesn't come with any sort of lanyard fixing so I have adapted one with some velcro tape, it doesn't weigh much, even with the batteries in, so that works fine.

Works fine in the field. Inexpensive and easy to use. The biggest dislike is the inability to use it with a lanyard. Also, compared with the 10x version, the clear plastic lens surround makes it quite awkward to use!

nice magnifier. great for reading coins can even read the very small print on the new one pound coins, which you cannot even see with the naked eye.

Good, clear optics, has one very bright led, no instructions on batteries/care but simple to use. Single led can cause problems with shadows or when examining reflective items. Plastic cup is none removable, adds bulk and can get in the way preventing access to focus on all areas of a three dimensional object. Would be great for flat items such as stamps or documents but would not recommend for field work or other situations that may require flexibility to get closer than cup allows. No problem returning to amazon, will look for standard loupe with multiple light source.

Clear magnification with a good light source. Some reviewers mention the cup gets in the way, if light is not needed I just tun it around & it works just fine.

Good field of view, and pretty good optics for the price. The LED works well when needed, and the battery lasts forever (I've had one of these with the same battery in use for almost two years!). The plastic case is a bit flimsy, and I would suspect that the belt loop might fail. (I carry mine in a small "ballistic nylon" phone holster that has a much better build quality and much more robust belt loop). However, plastic case apart, this is an excellent magnifier for the price, and well recommended.

Got this for my nine year old granddaughter who is obsessed with trees, she always takes it with her on country walks and loves it.

Le moins: ils auraient pu inclure un anneau pour fixer un collier pour la porter au cou, et l'anneau transparent est un peu trop proéminent pour modifier l'angle d'observation. Quand l'objet à observer est mouillé il y a beaucoup de reflets avec les LED
