DID NOT RECEIVE ANY CHANNELS WITH THIS ITEM, MAYBE IT WASN'T INTENDED FOR WHAT I THOUGHT
It's not about liking or disliking. It simply boils down to the point that it that it did not pick up any Freeview Channels.I have a different make older Digital Box and it Picks up some amount of Channels but I'll just Cut my loss with this Purchase and carry on persuit of a Suitable Digibox, thanks. I don't know what to do with this Item as all I required was for it to work bringing in Channels, it's hardly worth while going to the inconvenience of sending it back. Otherwise most of these Digiboxs are probably of a high Manufacturing quality.

Cheap but has limitations
It's a great price BUT........The user manual is very badly written in poor English. There are buttons on the remote to do certain things so it's logical to assume that all the things you can see displayed in the user manual will be accessible from an individual button, but some things are shown and talked about but there is no button for it.The way to access these functions is via the bottom of the first main menu, a fact never explained in the user manual. The record function works to any USB device you choose, but when you play back you cannot stop and resume at a later time. You always start the recording from the beginning again. there is no button to jump forward a few seconds or go back a few seconds.when you select a program to record from the EPG you get the name of the program listed as the name of the recording, but there are no options to begin the recording early or finish it later than the advertised time so if you manually change the start and end times for the recording it now claims to not know the name of the program you are recording and gives it a made up stupid name. There isn't a facility to watch a recording and then choose an option to delete the recording. You need to find a whole different part of the main menu (see earlier comment) from where recordings can be administered like deleted.

Easy to set up
I bought it for the England v Spain final of the Mens Euros. I normally just stream on the internet but I was worried that it would be overrun and, at best, I'd be seeing what happened 60 seconds ago unless I had a live TV signal. I arrived home with it waiting on my doorstep and 5 mins before kickoff. I ripped open the packaging, plugged it into the aerial socket and my 4K monitor (warning: no leads supplied) and it went through the setup, scanning the channels and as soon as it finished it went onto channel 1, which was showing the footie.Unfortunately this device couldn't help with the result of the game but I can't really blame Amazon for that.

Buy cheap buy twice
Needed one just for bedroom so unfortunately bought cheap. Nice compact unit. Easy to set up. But that's about all the positives I can muster. Lightweight cheap plastic. And after 6 months of using it maybe for 2/3 nights a week and for less than an hour a night it don't work. Unit turns on OK, and scans for channels then just stops, freezes and turns itself off.. Lesson learnt...

Small and delightful
How they do it for the price, I just don't know. A few years ago, I bought a television marked HD ready. When HD Freeview arrived it was an education to realise that the set could reproduce an HD signal through AV inputs but could not decode an rf signal off air. Seems a bit cheap by the set manufacturer unless the exact format of the signal to be decoded hadn't been decided when the set was sold to me.I plugged in my set to box (which had arrived by post in just two days), connected it and switched on. It set itself up sweet as a nut and with the addition of a USB memory stick it became a recorder as well. Considering that there is a casing, power cord and remote control, retailer's and manufacturer's profit and shipping, what's left to pay for for the magic tuner must be very little. With bargain basement priced kit, you always worry that there is the risk that it won't work or won't be compatible with the television to which it is to be connected, meaning disappointment and the mess-about of returns. No problems so far on this count and I would happily commend this unit to anyone. It also allows you to mark unwanted channels for skip so you don't have to put up with shopping channels or worse. Detractors who complain about slightly slow channel change can always pay seven or eight times as much for leading manufacturers' kit, but why would you? With this unit, you get what you pay for and a lot more, including a full one year guarantee.
