Question 1

How much Potassium does each capsule contain?

Accepted Answer

1000mg-if you follow the instructions and take two tablets per day. I take medication for high blood pressure and the negative side to them are they remove all the potassium from my body.
Been taking them for few months now and had numerous blood tests and nothing has been said about my potassium level. I haven't told my doc im taking them so i presume she thinks im doing ok.

Question 2

Best time of day should i use 2 potassium citrate

Accepted Answer

There are some considerations to take into account:

Meal Timing: Potassium Citrate is best taken with meals or at least with a full glass of water. This can help prevent stomach upset that some people might experience when taking potassium on an empty stomach.

Medications and Other Supplements: if you're taking any medications, especially those that might interact with potassium such as certain blood pressure medications (like ACE inhibitors or potassium-sparing diuretics), you'll want to ensure that the timing of your potassium citrate supplement doesn't interfere. It's best to consult with your doctor or your pharmacist to determine optimal timing.

Consistency: with many supplements, consistent timing can be more important than the specific time of day. If you're taking potassium citrate for a specific medical reason, such as preventing kidney stones, you may be advised to take it at the same time(s) each day to maintain a steady level in your system.

Question 3

How many carbs per tablet?

Accepted Answer

Hi , the only ingredients that can be considered carbohydrates are detailed below :

1.Microcrystalline Cellulose (bulking agent): This ingredient is a refined wood pulp used as a texturizer, anti-caking agent. It is a type of cellulose, an insoluble fiber, and does not contribute significant carbohydrates that are digestible by the human body.

2.Capsule Shell: Hydroxypropyl Methyl Cellulose (HPMC): This is a plant-based material used to make vegetarian capsules. HPMC is derived from cellulose, an insoluble fiber, and does not contribute significant carbohydrates that are digestible by the human body.

I hope this clarifies.

Question 4

How much elemental potassium is in this? I've just realised my potassium gluconate 595mg only has 99mg elemental potassium - it's in the small print!

Accepted Answer

The jar only says 2 capsules 1000mg potassium citrate 50% NVR.
However another brand says pure potassium citrate 1000mg (elemental potassium 360mg 18% NVR).
You may need to do some research to find the best amount to take. If you're taking other supplements check if they provide potassium.
