You get what you paid for. Used this about 3-4 times before it snapped in two!

I am not a ping pong aficionado, but I felt the difference immediately upon picking up these paddles from the current cheap set I have downstairs on the ping pong table. The layered wood design is attractive and gives the paddles a solid heft. These paddles just feel more professionally made than others I would find at a big box store. Likewise, the balls also feel smoother and more solid than the others I have.Another thing that is immediately noticeable is the strong odor of rubber when opening the packaging. I am not sure if that is a sign of quality materials, but it is quite strong. Also, for some reason the smooth side of the paddles came out covered in grease or oil or something. My son asked why they were covered in goo. I had to wipe the paddles down with a paper towel then wash my hands.My son, who is the ping pong aficionado in the family, refuses to use these the paddles because of the initial experience. For reference, he is a senior in college.So, solid set of paddles (and balls) but comes out of the packaging with something of a shocking experience.

Needed some new ping pong paddles for my table and these are great replacements

I am not a serious ping pong player, but we got a table for Christmas and needed another pair of paddles. These are pretty nice, but I'd like to give them only 4.5 stars. Here's why.The paddles are weighty and feel substantial in your hand. One side is dimpled, the other is smooth. The cover on the sides did come slightly smushed on one paddle, so I don't think they'd hold up under heavy use. Also, the included balls feel different than the ones that came with my table. The only way I can describe it is that they have a fuzzier feel. Lastly, I hated the hard plastic packaging that they came in. It's that stuff like tools come in that you have to cut to open and no matter what you do you're gonna slice your hand open on a sharp edge. Yuk.Overall these met my needs, but if you're a serious player you'll probably want to look for something else.

These paddles are comfortable in the hand but the pads are low quality. They started peeling away or off not long after we used them on a regular basis.
