Compact Yet Incredibly Solid – Perfect for Heavy Gear and Travel
This GM27 fluid head from Neewer is an absolute gem. It’s incredibly solid and well-built, and despite its compact size, it easily supports my camera with the Sigma 150-600mm lens, a setup that weighs nearly 3 kg. Even with the lens fully extended, the head holds everything firmly and securely when locked, while still offering smooth and fluid movements for panning and tilting. Its compact form factor is perfect for travel, wildlife excursions, or hiking — where every gram and inch matters. The build quality is excellent, and I especially appreciate the integrated Allen key compartment, so you always have the tool you need within reach. Thoughtful design like this makes a big difference in the field. One of my favorite features is the +/-10° leveling bowl. Being able to quickly and precisely level the camera on uneven terrain has saved me so much time and frustration. After using this feature, I honestly can’t imagine going back to a head without it — it’s become essential in my workflow. If I had to mention one drawback, it would be that while the handle is detachable, it’s clearly optimized for right-side use. When mounted on the left, it doesn’t feel as natural or balanced — something to keep in mind depending on your shooting preferences. Overall, this is an outstanding tripod head for both photo and video work, especially for heavy gear in the wild. Highly recommended.

Weight limit overly optimistic on the GM27, but GM35 is quite sturdy. Versatile tripod head.
The weight rating is definitely overly optimistic on the 37mm/GM27 model. I was hoping this would be a match for my travel tripod, but the tilt function creeps slowly with my camera/lens, no matter how tight I lock it. I'm at around 2-2.5kg, which is well under the rated limit of 4kg. Shorter/Lighter lenses on a mirrorless camera should be fine, though. The 48mm/GM35 is only a little bit bigger, but far more sturdy and can easily support a wider range of lenses. Unless you need something tiny, or are only using it for really small cameras it's worth sizing up a bit. Otherwise, the head is a dream come true; it's tiny, but it seems very well made. Both pan and tilt are quite smooth. The leveling feature is huge for such a low-cost tripod head. Getting one size up instead for my use case, but for lighter weight gear, I couldn't ask for a better compact tripod head.

Sturdy base for small astronomical telescope
I used this tripod head to restore an ancient Star-D photo tripod to service. I mount a four-pound Mak/Cassegrain telescope on it for use in astronomical observation, but it's also solid enough for high-magnification terrestrial viewing with an erector prism. There is a stop in the vertical movement, so to reach the zenith (straight up), the base must be used backward and the handle must be mounted backward, but it is long enough to be of use in that mode. Up to about 45 degrees up, the mount is excellent in its normal orientation. It's solidly built and has a return-to-horizontal feature that is stopped with the elevation lock knob, but is strong enough to overcome the telescope's weight. This head has allowed me to put a sturdy 45-year-old tripod back in service.

My favorite head mount
This thing is very nice. It has a lot of adjustments you can make. It locks tight and holds positions easily. The build quality is very nice. Solid and sturdy. It even has a bubble level so you can level your camera easily. Having the handle grip is what I like the most. It even lets you extend or retract how long you want the handle which is a nice touch. Moving the head left, rite, up and down is very smooth. No problems with mounting at all, it accepts all my accessories. Overall I think this is a great value for the money.

Pretty decent but still some to be sought after..
I like the compact size of this and the quality seems to be there not without paying the price in weight. It's a heavy little head but it does pretty good. The handle is probably the biggest downside of the whole thing. It unscrews to telescope out but can easily unscrew and fall off if you're not paying attention. I wish it had some type of screw lock or detent, that isn't inline with handle, to keep it from backing out. Other than that its a great head.. smooth movements, doesn't seem to drift all that much, it's quiet, and doesn't take up much room. I use it to self film hunts and overall happy with the purchase.

Neewer GM35. 5KG payload. I'm impressed by the smoothness of this head. The overall build quality is good. It can easily handle a Sony Alpha-series mirrorless camera, allowing smooth pan and tilt without snagging or 'biting' at the start or end of a move. the built in levelling base is limited in range but is still a welcome addition for fine-tuning the horizon and is a must for video shooters. At nearly 700grams it's no lightweight but still a lot lighter and smaller than a traditional video head. It is of course a friction head, not a fluid head but the results are still impressive. The are no adjustable levels of tension, just locked or unlocked so balancing the camera is the key to smooth operation - I've added a long Arca plate to assist in rebalancing when using heavier lenses (my Alpha cams have Arca Swiss plates permanently attached for gimbal work etc. so having a QR Arca plate on the tripod too works for me personally). This is a good choice as a tripod head for a B-camera. It doesn't replace a £1000+ fluid head in function and refinement but it's a fraction of the size and weight. More and more jobs require me to work on my own and bring 2 or 3 cameras so every KG counts and every bit of space in my kit bags matter - pieces of kit like this make my life easier. Also, if I'm just travelling with an Alpha-size cam kit I will now happily take this GM35 in place of my Sachtler.

Very beautifully made. Entirely fit for purpose as a fluid pan head for video with a DSLR. This small version fits tidily on my lightweight collapsible CULLMANN Magic 2 tripod. The inbuilt ball-joint, lock and leveling bubble really help quick setup. 10/10.

パンとティルトにトルク機能がある。無段階の調整で設定する。耐久性は分からないが価格の割には業務用カムコーダーで使えると思う。ただしカウンターバランス機能はない。NEEWERは安く良い撮影機材を提供しておりお世話になっている。
