Insta360 114cm Invisible Selfie Stick for X5 / X4 / X3

Does what it should, good quality and no problems so far. I'm happy with the purchase and would buy again.

Bonus surprise: It's got a standard screw hole in the end of the handle, which means you can mount this on a tripod. It fits on my old-fashioned tripod I have for a standard SLR camera which is a great combo. I bought it to go with the insta360 X3, and it's a must really. Unless mounting the X3 in some other way you really have to hold it on an invisible selfie stick, otherwise you lose the whole point of shooting 360. This stick is a good compromise between lightweight and sturdy, and being from insta360 there's a bit more confidence that it won't fail and leave your expensive camera smashed or at the bottom of a river etc. The effect of the disappearing selfie stick are really very good. A little spooky when you can see it's shadow...

Well balanced. It does what it says - it is a selfie stick that works with the camera to appear invisible (or rather not appear visible). Not sure I would extend it fully if it was vehicle mounted. Great for getting interesting views - some interesting views from inside trees.

I spent a little while looking into selfie stick options for my new Insta360 X6. There's a wide range of 3rd party sticks that are longer than Insta360's own offerings and some come with an integrated tripod. I was a bit hesitant as reviews were often mixed and you don't want to save £10 on a stick but endanger your expensive new camera in the process.In the end I went with this own brand one for 3 main reasons. First it was on offer half price for the white version so was way cheaper than any alternative ;-). Second, it has a tripod mount hole in the bottom so I could always take a mini tripod if I feel I need it, and third it's the camera's own brand so it must be good enough for the X6.I thought I might need longer, but having used it I don't regret it for the following reasons. Actually 114cm is plenty long enough for most purposes with a fisheye lens. The ones at 160cm+ will make you look a lot smaller, though they will allow your arm to be in a more natural position for selfies. The mechanism feels solid and the stick feels rigid and strong enough . It uses a resistance slider for each segment so its easy to open and close in one movement. The top has a rubber washer that helps tighten the camera/adapter mount to the screw thread so it won't work loose. Being small means it's so light you don't notice it. The lower handle has a rubberised grip. As for colour, I think the white should attract less attention as its blends into most environments better than black too. And it does indeed have a female thread in the base for a tripod mount.With an Insta360 it is editted out automatically to make it "magically" invisible. To be honest any tubular support stick will work as long as its a regular shape and the camera mount doesn't exceed the camera footprint. (Even my mini-tripod worked when I used that instead of a stick). While the camera edits out the stick using the field of view overlap between the front and back lenses it won't edit out a shadow cast by the stick in sunlight, that'll still be in the captured image.This is the cheapest stick in Insta360's range, and at full price is dearer than 3rd party offerings. It is intended for and is suitable for tourism/casual use, not action sports. If you plan to use it on moving sports equipment don't skimp and risk your gear, just cough up and get the carbon one - it's specifically designed for it.
