Excellent for our bathroom window
We bought our house about a year ago and have been looking for an effective, budget friendly solution for our master bathroom window since then. We have a 5 foot window that looks straight through the master bath out to the street when the blinds are open, but when they are closed, it is very dark. We wanted the natural light but also wanted to keep our privacy. I've looked at hardware stores for reasonably priced privacy film and the cheapest material we could find that covered the area we needed started around $40. I found this on Amazon a few weeks ago and it seemed too good to be true - $5 for 9 feet?? Definitely worth trying for the price, even if it didn't work. Having tried it, I am extremely satisfied and have even recommended it to several family members. It works just like contact paper but has the light-diffusing diamond pattern that provides great privacy as long as you are further than about 8 inches from the window. If you are right up against it (as my toddlers like to do) you can see them from outside, but as soon as you walk a bit further from the window, everything is completely obscured. I found it relatively easy to apply, and put it up using the heel of my hand to press it on and smooth out any bubbles. Even if there are bubbles, they are almost impossible to see from the inside - I pretty much had to run my hands over to find them. It is forgiving material and I was able to stick and re-stick it a few times if I started a row then realized it wasn't level, and it didn't seem to leave any residue behind. We have been using it for several weeks now and it has performed admirably, even when the bathroom gets very humid. Even if it were to wear off in time (which I don't see it doing for years) it would be inexpensive to replace. Definitely a wonderful product that I would use again in a heartbeat because of the price, quality, and ease of use.

MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE LOOKING! And I am SO NOT HANDY and I did a good job
EDIT: THIS WILL BE THE FOURTH TIME I HAVE GOTTEN THIS. I MOVED and while I have reflective window panes, doesn't help at night and also I like keeping blinds open during the day and even if people can't SEE IN, I can see out and I have a view of parking lot and trash bins! When I have company, just as soon not see that, but want to let all the light in. --------------------------------------------------- INEXPENSIVE, EASY for even someone not handy (like me) to put up, and LOOKS GREAT. ADDS PRIVACY and IMPROVES my view! _______________________________________ OK it is CONTACT PAPER, so it's got that adhesive on the back and you have to be careful because it can stick together. BUT I am NOT a handy person and I managed to get it on four small windows. I was rushing when I got to the last one and it all stuck together and there wound up being a small tear or scratch but not even noticeable unless you're right up to it. This looks FABULOUS in the area I have it in. Looks expensive and the grid almost makes it look like it's part of the pattern in the transparent curtains I have in front of it! AMAZING for privacy. Let's in ALL the light, but I don't see anything and more importantly, nothing can see me. I am up high and often wondered how much was visible when I had lights on. Now I know at the MOST there may be a slight shadow. IF I CAN PUT THIS UP, ANYONE CAN! For the money, take a chance. It looks great and worked perfectly. NOW would I use it for a really BIG window where people could see it up really close? Probably not, but for my needs. WOW. The best five dollars I've spent on home decorating!

Good Clear Matte Film
This just arrived yesterday, on time, in perfect condition. It's Good quality. I put it up as soon as it was delivered. I got it to help with privacy, and figured the clear matte would help with that, but also allow sunlight in which I wanted in the kitchen. I am happy with the results, even if there's a few bubbles here & there, there aren't many. The few bubbles or lines is not a big deal anyway, because I also plan on putting up a new curtain as well. I just wanted this film for when I opened the curtains in this area to let sunlight in, but for no one outside to see in here. It's nice looking, wasn't trying to make it all pretty, lol. I put it up myself, it wasn't hard to do that. But like a few people said, it was a bit slow/difficult peeling apart the film from the paper. Which was really the part of the whole thing difficult & made the job slower. Other than that, it was all good, good results, and it comes with much of it. Originally I was going to buy 2, because I didn't know how much film it was. It was more than enough for me, I did my kitchen windows which is seen in the picture, and some of my bathroom, and still have alot leftover for anything else I want to use it on. And the adhesive works great, stuck very well. And on my windows I was still able to lift & reposition it when I needed too due to bad placement on my part, and it adhere to the window the same again, great. I feel like it will last on my windows for a while. I recommend this film, if your willing to take your time with your project. Again, removing the film adhesive was the slowest, sometimes difficult part of the whole process which is why it's 4 stars rated. Other than that, good product for a successful project.

Looks Beautiful and is Durable Too
I had to write a review on this contact paper even though I had purchased it a year ago. I have two barrister or lawyers cabinets in which I have many of my books stored. Even though the cabinets are beautiful, the massive amount of books didn't look that great. Also, we had recently moved and now my cabinets are placed for all to see when they come to visit. So I needed something to hide my books from view. At first I was thinking of I would sew some lace "curtains" and tack them to the back of the glass doors, but then reality took over and I knew I'd never complete that project. I then looked for a pretty contact paper and found this. It was extremely easy to apply other than the paper likes to roll back up and now and then I would get a small air bubble. Usually I could press the bubble out the side, but in a few places I took a small needle and poked a hole into the paper. The paper doesn't completely block the view of all my books, but it does help obscure it. I really like the look. I also had some leftover contact paper and we have a window in our bathroom which can be seen through if someone really tries. I used the paper not only on the stain glass but also the storm. The double use of the paper in this situation makes it impossible for anyone to see through. I really love the look in the two places I used the contact paper. Also, it is quite durable and stays in place as I have had it up for more than a year now and not even an edge has released. I think this is quite amazing in our bathroom as it gets quite steamy at times. This is a great product and I would order again. I've attached photos so you can see the bookcase doors and how the books are slightly visible. I also have a picture of the bathroom stained glass window. Itnis difficult to see but I placed the contact paper on the clear glass.

Beautifully Simple!!!
This is so very easy to install. It gives an excellent amount of privacy (quite a bit more than I expected, actually) while still letting light in. I've received a couple of compliments on it so far and heard several more positive comments online (I loved it so much I posted my results on Facebook). It even inspired someone to put the window film up that she bought more than a year ago! The only problem with it at all? It really showcases what an ugly shade of green the front door is so now the door needs to be painted more than ever. *wink* To install, I simply measured the panes and cut close to those measurements with a pair of cheap scissors (there is a small-scale grid covering the backside of the paper so it's easy to cut to size) - when I realized that my measurements didn't line up EXACTLY with the grid lines, I cut a bit larger than I needed so I could follow the lines. Next came the hardest part of the whole process - getting a corner started to separate the film from the backing (took maybe 30-45 seconds). I then placed a piece of cut film onto each pane (I did clean the windows with a bit of windex before I started cutting the film). I didn't really have any trouble with bubbling (maybe because the pieces were so small?) but, the one little spot I had that DID bubble a bit, I was just able to peel the film back and then I made sure to push outward as I finished applying that section. Once the pieces were up, I simply took a razor knife and ran it around the edges to cut off any excess. The whole process - from cleaning the windows to trimming the edges - took MAYBE 15 minutes. There are very few DIY projects out there that make quite that BIG an impact with so little time and effort! Photos are from the inside at night and from the outside during the day. Film was applied to the panes on the inside of the door and it doesn't matter whether you're looking in or out, you can't see a darned thing except MAYBE shadows (I don't know, I haven't tested this). There's quite a bit of this on the roll. I have thought and thought, trying to figure out where else I might use this film and I came up with only one other (relatively small) spot. So, rather than let the rest of the roll sit in my garage for years and rot, lol, I do believe I'll be paying it forward and passing the remainder of this one on to one of the gals who complimented the change in my front door!
