Golden Acryl Med 16 Oz Glaze Liquid Satin

I've been using acrylic paints for decades. A few of the down sides are the relatively short working time and achieving transparent washes. I find that using this product in Satin (not to shiny and not too matt) along with a few drops of retarder keeps my paint fresh and workable for a much longer time and allows me to apply multiple glazing effects without risking over diluting with water and loosing the qualities of the colors. I am always impressed with Golden's diverse range of high quality, inventive products and enjoy experimenting with their many mediums and textured modeling pastes. This product is great value for the money and works well with acrylic paint.

I saw a video about using this as an under layer in coloring books so I can use water color in the books. So I got it for that purpose. It brushes on very easily and I let it dry overnight. It dries pretty smooth. The pages curl a bit but flatten out when pressed. It has no bad odor. After drying I can do multi media art on the page without the paper coming apart and with it bleeding through the page.

I like it for collage and thinning acrylic paint… and glazing. It seems to work a lot better than matte mediums… my work lays more flat. Not sure why that is. Bottle can be hard to squeeze as product is used… so a bit hard on the hands. But… worth it. Matte medium easier on hands if u have any strength issues.

Easy to use and great value.

I saw this mentioned on an "Adult Coloring site." She sprayed her page prior to color pencil coloring. After letting it dry, she found it helped in making it easier to blend various colors using her color pencils. I found it "nubby." Also, it peeled off as I tried to blend the colors with a blender pencil or burnishing. Wouldn't advocate it for this use. It's most likely fine for uses more in line with what it's advertised to do.
