The writing was good, struggled with character likability
I’m glad I pushed myself to finish the book, because I almost didn’t. All of the characters were kind of crappy people in one way or the other. Definitely not healthy people that I would want to be friends with in real life. At least, in the end, the relationship between the two best friends was somewhat called out for being the emotionally manipulative, unhealthy relationship that it was. And the main character worked for redemption. So reading the book until the end was important to see this happen even though it got tough in the middle to still stick with these people.

A powerfully packed YA drama...
I liked this a lot more than I thought I would. Players and heartbreakers aren’t generally my go-to reads. But, Maley did a great job bringing the pressure cooker that is high school to life and all the crap that goes with it. I commend her for elevating what could’ve been a two dimensional and catty storyline to something much more complex and redeemable. I loved the characters, the journey we were taken on, and the dialogue was excellent. Well done.

One of the greatest reads!
Wow!! This book is really interesting, a very different story plot filled with suspense and twist. I love the high school drama romance series by Siera and she is amazingly talented in writing these. The meticulously crafted web of character roles, those big moments of emotional outbursts, the push and pull and tension, the thrill and suspense which almost stops your heart, the pain and joy you seem to absorb from the characters- it all makes it a really great book from truly gifted author!! Enjoy!

Makes me feel old
Overall, this is a good book... It's VERY much "teenage romance/high school drama". The other books I've read by the author (Colorblind, Taking flight) also feature teenagers but unlike those, Ruining prom had me repeatedly wincing at the characters' immaturity. Which is not to say they don't feel real or that they don't face some very real problems. It's well-written and the story is solid; just not really my cup of tea. 3.5 stars from me.

Siera Maley never disappoints!
I was a lot excited and a little scared to read this because I’ve been real disappointed with lesfic lately but I didn’t need to worry. Siera Maley delivers! She’s one of my favorite lesfic authors and I’ve been (im)patiently waiting for her new novel and I love it. The build up, the feelings, the characters. I can feel the emotions. I haven’t ever been disappointed with Siera Maley and her writing and I’m (im)patiently waiting for her next book.My only “problem” with her books is that I wish they were a little longer.

Definite Recommend
I have loved every Siera Maley book I've read. This was an intricately plotted book with layered characterization, but most importantly, it's just fun. The book sucks you in and I was pretty much glued to my Kindle until I finished! I do hope that the author revisits these characters again further down the road.

Brilliant
Yet another superbly written book from Siera Maley. It kept me hooked right up to the end, desperate to find out how it ends.Everything that happens, and all the characters, are so believable this could have almost been a true story.A lot of the characters seem to be quite unpleasant people, especially the two main characters, Zoey and Chelsea, but eventually you realise they are just teenagers, growing into adulthood, trying desperately not to get hurt and not to make any mistakes, but making them anyway and hurting themselves and other people along the way. Ultimately, they are just typical, normal human beings. The story seems all along to be heading to a real car crash of an ending, but, rest assured, this is a Siera Maley book, and she is an expert at happy endings, you will not be left disappointed at the end of this one.As always from this author, a truly excellent read.

This author never disappoints!
I loved this book, it was really easy to get in to and even though some of the plot was obvious it was still a great read - sometimes you just want the angsty book to have a happy ending right! The main characters flowed and had good development, and the best friend can go to hell.Love me some queer fiction so this was right up my street, h.recommend!

Die Hauptperson Zoey ist in etwa genauso erbärmlich wie Valerie in Time It Right.
