there are a lot of things in life that require active maintenance. friendships. houseplants. remembering where you left your water bottle. apparently your microbiome also wants to be included in this ongoing administrative process. girls’ girls encourage each other to look after their microbial communities, so thank you, thorne. i’ve been taking this for months now, which is generally how long i like to wait before reviewing supplements, because anything shorter than that feels like judging a book based on the first paragraph. it’s quietly become one of those things i don’t really want to be without now. not in a dramatic “i have ascended” way. more in a “things seem to run more smoothly when this is involved” way. over time my digestion has felt calmer and more predictable, and i’ve had fewer of those slightly off moments that send you into unnecessary internal investigations. my skin also does seem clearer and a bit glowier lately, which i’m not mad about. obviously there are a hundred variables at play there, so i’m not assigning sole responsibility, but the timing is… noted. i also appreciate that it’s shelf stable. the fridge is already a competitive environment and i don’t need capsules entering the chat. this just lives peacefully in a cabinet and gets on with its job. capsule is easy to take, once daily is manageable, and it very much falls into the category of things that reward consistency rather than impatience. in the chaiconomy, this lands at around four chais for the month. not insignificant, but for something i’ve used long enough to actually notice and would replace without hesitation, it feels justified. ✨tl;dr✨ steady, low-drama probiotic that seems to keep things balanced, digestion calmer, and skin clearer. nothing theatrical, just quietly effective enough that i’d notice if it disappeared.

Thorne is an excellent brand. One of my physicians utilizes supplements a lot, and while she has specific favorites from different brands, she has two brands that she most trusts and depends on, for pretty much everything they offer. Thorne is one of them. I’ve had great results from their products, and they have so many choices, I can find exactly what my body needs. I’ve tried probiotics for women, at least 5+ formulations, over the years, and I’ve had some success in the past, but this is the best one I’ve found, yet. We have a lot more choices than we did 15+ years ago. This is a shelf-stable probiotic, it doesn’t need to be refrigerated. It has a comprehensive list of 8 probiotic strains for female health and balance. It’s all Lactobacillus, including acidophilus, the old favorite. I highly recommend this product, I take one, daily.

I started taking a priobiotic in my 40s on the advice of one doctor to better support my gut health. Thorne was well reviewed based on the ingredients and testing. However, I also saw a post that said if there was not a clear medical reason (like low lab values) or a significant difference in how you feel ona supplement, that it is likely not worth it. So I let this lapse for a couple weeks and actually did feel different! More constipation and just general ick, so I am back on it.

Probiotics are all very beneficial. I take more than one kind for my system to stay better balanced. This is the one for keeping all my lady parts in good shape! It works very well at keeping and extra sugary things I eat from creating a hot mess there. I am also going through THE CHANGE, and so it has also helped with that as well. I do wish it wasn't one of the more expensive ones on the market, however, it makes up for that in NOT having extra fillers that can cause people to have reactions. The only side effects are good ones, not much odor in the bottles I have gotten since the beginning of this year.
