I have tried so many clippers for my dogs nails. Hers are hard as they can possibly be. I was always trying to use these other clippers and they would just crush your nail or fracture the tips. These clippers really cut through her hard nails beautifully. She didn't even try to struggle. I highly recommend these if you have a large dog with long hard nails. I didn't even realize there was a file in a comb hidden inside the clipper handles which are a nice addition. I have little weak hands and I had no trouble with these clippers. I can't say enough how wonderful they worked. Well made and have pretty handles. Also quiet.

The blades are not sharp enough, and the mechanism feels flimsy. It took multiple attempts to trim even a small portion, and the result was a splintered, uneven nail. Definitely not recommended—save your pet the discomfort and choose a higher quality tool.

Well made and worked well for my giant breeds giant nails

Our Rescue German Shepherd had extremely long super thick and hard nails. A regular nail trimmer regardless of how hard I squeezed would not penetrate them at all. This stressed her so I just had to stop and couldn’t clip one nail. They were so dangerously long they could have ripped off. I had given up. I started searching and came upon these and read all the reviews. They actually did cut through her nails like butter. She was not stressed at all. She laid quietly this time and let me cut her nails. Before she struggled from the pressure I was putting on her nail without it cutting. Now a weekly trim and she will have healthy short nails. Highly highly recommend

I like these clippers for my medium sized dog. I did have to tighten the guard so that it would stay in place. They did not work as well as I would’ve liked on my pitbull. His nails are thick and tough
