Works great out of the box
I bought this along with aBTF-LIGHTING AC100-240V to DC12V6A power supply and a BTF-LIGHTING 5050 RGBW LED strip, after lots of research and a certain amount of educated guessing, and that combination worked flawlessly for me out of the box. The remainder of this review assumes you have that specific combination of components. The LEDs come with a cable that connects the pin sockets on the end of the strip to individual wires suitable for insertion into the controller. When inserting each wire, pay attention to the wire color! The order of red and green is switched on the controller relative to the pin order on the LED strip, so you'll need to cross-wire the wires. The colors of the wires in the cable that comes with the LED strip matches the pin order on the strip, so just attach the red wire to the "R" socket on the controller and the green wire to the "G" socket, and you'll be fine (unless you're red-green colorblind, in which case, best of luck!). The controller also comes with two sockets marked V+ (power). Attach the black wire to one of them and leave the other one empty. This advice probably applies to the RGBW controller that has a remote control too, but I can't say for sure.If nothing happens when you plug it in, make sure the plug between the wall socket and the power brick is firmly inserted. It took a fair bit of persuasion for me to get it fully seated. The controller comes with an instruction sheet that assumes you're using a specific third-party Zigbee hub and smart home app, so I mostly ignored it. The only relevant instruction is to press the button on the controller four times in quick succession to make it register itself with your Zigbee hub. Once I did that, it immediately showed up in my name-brand home app, the name of which I will not mention because the company seem to dislike it when people mention using third-party components with their hub, and I want to avoid unnecessary Hue and cry. Suffice it to say it works great with that system, though.Inserting the wires into the individual sockets was a little fiddly and requires a small straight-slot screwdriver of the sort you might get with a glasses kit. I was honestly a little surprised when I turned it on and it all worked, because I couldn't push the wires very far into the sockets. But they stayed in place when I screwed them down, and apparently that's enough. Using the cable that came with the LED strip, I didn't have to strip the wires at all to make that work.I was honestly not expecting the controller to just work on the first try, so I was very pleased when it did!

Painless ZigBee controller for the indecisive
This controller is far too expensive to be your go-to, but if you just want a controller to try out various LED strips this should be on your list.It supports standard ZigBee pairing and discovery, and I have had it working flawlessly with both a Hue hub and an IKEA Dir hub.It does not work well when bridged to HomeKit. Something about how HomeKit refuses to control white temperature with just the white LEDs without adding RGB colors. I don’t fault the controller for that though, as they make HomeKit models as well.Note that you still need to provide your own power driver, so consider that when factoring price. Also be cautious as the pinouts did not match any of the strips I tried, so be sure to double-check your connection.

Works with Smart Things
Instructions were scetchy. The lights didn’t connect at all with the dedicated app. (Hence 4 stars) I tried the smart things app via WiFi and it instantly connected. Works very well with smart things and integrated with my other devices. Lighting is not the brightest, but I’m using it for under cabinet lighting (not above the stove-see photo), which is fine. Would purchase another now that I know how to hook it up easier.

Works straight out of the box despite the 'hue and cry" :)
Works straight out of the box with my zigbee hub. I got the wires for the lights hooked up first, plugged in the power and had the app search for it and it found it right away. Shows up as both a color light and a ww/cw (I have CW lights) Just go the CW/WW settings and put the color where it works best and boom, you are done.

Not worth the price.
Been using this to drive about 6ft of LEDs and while it works, connectivity/responsiveness leaves a lot to be desired. My place is covered head to toe in zigbee, so it’s not the mesh, and another controller that’s cheaper is more responsive and has the ability to work with RGBW strips should I choose to change them in the future.I would not recommend this controller. Another Tuya flop, unfortunately.(Using with Home Assistant through Zigbee2MQTT (Z2M), connected to a Sonoff 3.0 Dongle)

Does not work with Hubitat
I rated this three stars to indicate I judge it to be average because it is, as advertised, a Zigbee RGBW controller and there's nothing I found defective or misleading. Terminals and connectors are all good quality and pairing was fast and "by the book". What it does not do is work *properly* with hubitat. By properly I mean that while one of the white channels is controllable, the RGB channels are not controllable. I've read a comment here that while the generic Huibitat driver doesn't work another driver does (but no mention of what does work), so YMMV.

Works great with a HomeKit Zigbee router, easy to install
Requires a little electrical knowledge, but I managed to turn off the breaker and wire it up fairly easily with the instructions. The unit has no power button so it's just always powered, syncing it with a Zigbee router was easy, and it worked straight out of the box. With a HomeKit Zigbee router I got it connected up to my HomeKit / Apple Home / Siri easily. Works great, no issues so far!

Customer service helpful
I bought this for my boat to light up cuddy cabin and interior pockets. I bought the IP65 60LED 5 wire strips, bought the upgraded clips, soldered wires and it lights up great. It's important to understand how you plan to operate the lights, be that Bluetooth, Wifi, or remote control and purchase the correct model.

RGBW mode does not work
RGB mode (red light) works fine with both strips but RGBW mode (green light) does not.I am using BTF's RGBW RGB+Cool White LEDs with this controller and I've also done a sanity check with some old RGB LEDs I had left over from another project. I'm using Home Assistant and a ZigBee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus to instruct the controller. In RGBW mode, aside from on/off and brightness, controlling the strip doesn't work. It just lights up a slightly green colour. Only the colour temperature setting seems to have an effect but it doesn't match. I've triple checked the wiring with the diagrams from the manual.
