Great little juicer
Being new to juicing I spent hours pondering over what type of juicer to buy (online forums show that many other people are struggling with this decision). After all, prices range from £25 to over £1000 for machines that will basically produce the same glass of juice. In the end I went for the cheapest option. The first impression on unpacking this juicer is that it is surprisingly well made; the plastic mouldings are solid and finished to a very high standard of gloss. The machine is easy to put together although I did start off with a leak due to putting 2 washers in the nozzle by mistake (there was one already fitted in the groove, in addition to the generous 2 spares provided). Results vary greatly according to the type of fruit or vegetable used. It seems to require a fairly firm fibrous nature for the screw to work against. Best results have been with pomegranate: a thin dry pencil-like rod of crushed seeds emerges from the front nozzle and 100% of the juice is easily collected. At the other end of the spectrum soft pre-cooked beetroot just resulted in a slushy mess that went round and round in the chamber yielding no juice at all. Other fruits are in between. You need to adjust the tightness of the nozzle as you juice, according to the resistance felt as the fibrous waste builds up. What is remarkable is the quality and appearance of the fresh juices produced. Spinach yields a pure green juice that is almost fluorescent, and the taste of any juice is fresh and zingy and miles better than anything you can buy in a carton from a supermarket, even if it claims to be "freshly squeezed" (but is invariably pasteurised). I was concerned that the polycarbonate parts might contain hazardous BPA but they are stated to be "FDA-approved" which I assume means that they do not. All in all this juicer is a lot of fun and a good learning experience. It isn't the best juicer out there but for very little money it'll show you whether juicing is for you or not. Comment added after longer use: I've grown to love this little machine! It works faultlessly and is very easy to clean (just a rinse under the tap is all that is needed as long as you dismantle it immediately after use). My wife and I took it on holiday to enjoy fresh juice every day, it went in my hand luggage and there was no problem going through airport security at London Gatwick. I've upgraded my rating from 4 star to 5 stars.

Wonderful Juicer. I highly recommend it.
I love this juicer. I recently had a centrifugal one, and I prefer this one for seven reasons: 1. It's smaller, so it takes up less room. 2. Its size means it's so much easier to wash. 3. The only noise it makes is a squeak when I juice hard veg, like carrots. 4. It juices greens like wheat grass, spinach and celery extremely well. It makes a very economical juice. 5. If I want to use the leftover fibre from a particular vegetable or fruit, it's easy to keep it separate from the other veg. For instance, I juice carrots, apple, ginger, and garlic to eliminate mould toxins from my body. I reuse the ingredients (minus the garlic) in delicious recipes, like pancakes. (A centrifugal juicer takes more juice out of carrots than this one, but it's not a problem for me because it's nicer to use the fibre with a little juice still in it because that's where the taste is.) 6. It can be quite meditative to turn the handle and make juice from a plate of chopped fruit and veg. And it's satisfying that I made it with my muscle. 7. The price is amazing because it doesn't have a motor. It's wonderful that it allows people to own a juicer for so little money. The reason I gave it four stars is because it has three small design faults. 1. It would be better if the horizontal piece were longer near the handle. The outlet for the juice is too near the base. 2. The collecting jug would be better if the spout were longer. Even when I stick the jug down with a loop of sellotape, the jug can move slightly with the use. You have to be vigilant to keep the juice from slipping down the wrong way. 3. The rubber base does a great job in keeping it stable, but it can let juice in between it and the base. It's not designed to be taken from the base for cleaning, so it's tricky to get it clean. I'm concerned about the possibility of mould growing there. These faults are not stopping me from using this one or two times each day with joy. I just wanted to give an honest review. If they brought out an improved version, 'I would buy that one. The company was great. I told them that Amazon had not given it sufficient packing material, and the jug arrived with a crack. They told me to give them my address, and they would send me a replacement. The only reason why I haven't received it yet is my recalcitrance in replying with my address. UPDATE: I received the replacement jug super fast after I told them my address! Excellent service. Well packed and intact.

Lexen Manual Healthy Wheatgrass Juicer
Have only had this juicer a short time so have only used it twice so far. I bought it in anticipation of better weather, as I wanted to be able to have fresh juice on a daily basis, but so far the weather has been a let down and this is the reason why I haven't started using the juicer in earnest yet. In the couple of time that I have used the juicer, however, I have found it to be not only efficient but very easy to both use and clean. My daughter has a top of the range electric masticating juicer, which she doesn't use as much as she could, probably because of all the parts that need to be washed after use. I figure if you are going to have to stand there and feed the fruit/veg into the juicer, you might just as well turn the handle at the same time, so being manual this juicer is no more difficult or time consuming that an electric juicer. The great thing is that it is so small and compact and takes up little space and being portable means that it can also go with you wherever you go, holidays etc even camping is no problem for this juicer as it requires no electricity supply. The last juice I made consisted of 2/3 of a bag of baby spinach leaves, 2/3 of a bag of rocket, 1 large orange, and 2 small apples - this amount of fruit and veg made almost a standard tumbler of juice which I was impressed with, but I was even more impressed when i tasted the juice, it was just like nothing I had tasted before. Another point to note is that the juicer is very sturdy and comes with a few spares i.e. silicone rings, wheatgrass attachment and gasket which I was very impressed with. I would recommend this juicer even based on the couple of times that I have used it so far, as it more than meets my expectations.

Very impressed with this juicer
Delighted with this juicer. It comes in a surprisingly small box and is very easy to put together. The parts seem well made and tough and I'd expect this to last a long time. There isn't enough of an overhang on our kitchen surface for the clamp so we used the juicer on our wooden dining room table and it secured really well with the clamp and suction base. First attempt, we juiced about 5 organic apples, a carrot, some cucumber, and a punnet of grapes and it produced around 800-900ml juice which tasted absolutely delicious, and the soft pulp we collected from the mesh filter was enough to fill a ramekin and will be nice as a cereal/desert topping. The fibrous output, fruit skin etc, was quite dry showing the juicer to be very efficient - we discarded this, but I understand there are recipes out there to use this up. Operating the juicer is very easy indeed even with the harder inputs such as carrots - no real effort at all. In fact we found the whole process quite theraputic! The only awkward bit was when we pulled the juice collector out to empty it, since juice will continue to drip from the outlet so it's worth having something handy to catch the drips. Because the juicer is manual it is very quiet and it's nice not having to rely on electric. Cleaning the parts (and there are not many) took a couple of minutes and I allowed them to air dry before packing away. Because it's so easy to clean I feel quite inclined to use this juicer on a regular basis. Very pleased with the juicer indeed - can highly recommend.

A real let down
The good - the suction thing works well, it's lightweight, it looks ok. The bad - it leaks all over the place. Pulp comes out both ends and therefore clogs up the tray where the liquid is meant to go. So you have to remove that pulp for any juice to drip. I found it got clogged up quite easily. The pulp that came out of the right end was so moist that I had to put it through the juicer four times to get a bit more juice out of it. The handle moved during the process, despite being screwed in tight, so all of a sudden it was scraping against my cupboard door. So after all the leaked juice, the unclogging, the wonky handle you have the cleaning process which is time consuming. If you are going to buy this product then get some decent brushes that can reach and clean in nooks and crannies. I really wanted this product to be good, or even just ok but it's terrible. I wouldn't even recommend it if you are on a budget. So disappointed.

Good value, I gave it a 3 star because although it's working its dripping in places, have to assemble at every use and the clamp system is not exceptional, however the juicer does the job and it's easy to clean!

Good for wheatgrass.
I'm not a big fan of juicing. I don't like waste and juicing leaves too much pulp which just goes to the bin. I prefer smoothies and I use nearly a whole fruits or veggies in my full glass of goodness. But there are some veggies that just cannot go into smoothies, because they make the taste absolutely awful. It is easier to drink a small shot of green juice in one go then trying to swollow huge cup of liquidised Shrek. Wheatgrass is a perfect example. When someone ever put raw wheatgrass or its juice into their smoothies, he or she will remeber it forever! It's healthy but disgusting. So I bought this juicer purely for wheatgrass and I don't use it for anything else. It works just perfect! It's easy to assembly, dismantle and clean. The juice is great and I can see how much it squished the wheatgrass as it comes out very dry and compacted. I drink my green juice from the short glass on one go. It doesn't taste very good but I know it's good for me! And I'm done after few gulps which is a bonus in that case. I believe this juice can be used for juicing other veggies or fruit, I never tried it so cannot comment. I still prefer to use blender for other plants. Overall I'm very happy with this juicer.

A good juicer for the price
I have had this juicer about 6 weeks now and it is ideal for juicing vegetables. I have not tried it with fruit so cannot comment on that. I prefer fruit whole and not juiced so this review is just for vegetables. The product is sturdy easy to clean and just takes a minute to put back together. I have up to now had no problems with this juicer. The only minus is it takes quite a few minutes to juice half a cupful of juice and that is why I have given it only 4 stars but for the price I would have given it 4.7 stars if there was an option to do that. Very Nice Juicer
It took about 2 weeks to get here after ordering - a week before shipping and a week in transit. Now that it's here, it's a pretty nice juicer. This is my first juicer. We decided to give this a try before investing more money in an electric juicer. What's in the box? Suction juicer base, clear plastic hopper/body, green plastic end cap with O ring, 2 little white end caps, screw core with white plastic bushing, crank handle, plastic cup, screen for plastic cup, 2 extra O rings, 1 extra white plastic bushing, pusher for hopper (which doubles as wrench to turn suction cup knob), wrench for green plastic end cap, and clamp. I say plastic, not sure what the exact materials are, but this is fairly heavy duty stuff. I've been juicing mostly vegetables with it, potatoes, carrots, celery, onion, and also tried a grapefruit and an orange. Works great on these. I cut up the potatoes and onion into french fry size, but carrots and celery I just feed whole. I've found that, if instead of just dropping the stuff in the hopper, if you just feed with one hand as you crank with the other it works really well. I think overall it works faster than cutting up the veggies small enough so they'll self feed. I'm sure this could cut off or crush a finger pretty easily so be careful of getting your fingers down too far. I've found if you feed the larger end of carrots or celery first you can just let go when you get to the smaller end and they'll self feed. I made the mistake the first time of having the cup underneath where the pulp comes out. If you call the side with the suction cup knob the front, the proper place to put the cup is in the back with the protruding part sticking under the crank handle side. That's where the juice comes out. You need your own bowl to catch the pulp that comes out the other end. The pulp comes out pretty much juiced out. I'm pretty impressed by how well it gets the juice out. I tried putting the pulp back through to see if I could get more juice out. I thought this was working but have since concluded that the pulp was acting almost like a sponge soaking up the juice that had already been extracted and was on its way to drip out and the re-pulp was not adding any more juice. Also re-pulping was very messy and made clean-up harder. The screen does a great job to make your juice pulp free if you want it that way, but you have to let gravity do the work. If you push down on the slush you'll end up pushing pulp through the screen. Of course if you don't mind pulp you can leave the screen off. (Here, of course, I'm talking about tiny little pulp that comes out with the juice, not the major juiced out pulp that comes out the other end.) Clean-up is pretty easy (when you don't make a mess re-pulping). Rinse out the screen and cup. You have to stuff a napkin where the juice comes out because another few drops come will inevitably come out when the cup isn't there. Remove and rinse off the little white nozzle. Remove and rinse off the green end cap (don't lose the O ring). Remove and rinse off the screw core. There is a removable bushing on the screw core (on the handle end). Stuff gets under there so take it off the screw core and rinse. Rinse out the hopper unit. (You need to unlock the suction cup for the hopper to slide out.) Carrot juice does seem to stain the screw core and the white tips a bit, but I don't think that's anything to worry about. I've only used the suction cup so far. I did yank it off the counter the second time I used it when it was hard to turn, but I've since learned not to feed it with too much at a time. I just let it cut off a little to feed through at a time. (That is the screw will cut what your feeding into it off in just the right amount.) Also, when I'm pulling up on the handle and it is harder to pull I will hold down the unit to be sure. Overall it's a nice product and I highly recommend. ps I thought I should try something soft since this says it's a wheatgrass juicer. The closest thing I have to wheatgrass I figure is spinach. I ended up putting a good handful through, but no juice! I send a carrot through after and the juice that comes out is green. Not sure how much is spinach juice. I notice that there is some play in the fit of the screw core. It has room to move from front to back. I cut a plastic washer out of a plastic milk jug and put that between the bushing and the screw core. It's a really nice fit now. I try the spinach again. Still no juice. (There's a juice slush in the screw core area, but no juice is flowing out.) Maybe spinach has no fiber to squeeze like wheatgrass does. I have some lettuce to try. Hey, the lettuce actually juices! I don't know if any conclusion can be made from this how wheatgrass will do, but the milk jug washer is a very good improvement.

jus d'herbe

Besides The great product, at amazing half the price of another seller on Amazon it's the managers who are exceptional ,from securely packaging ,quick dispatching ,keeping one informed about the progress of the order with the courier company , and quickly dealing with any problem studiously . For me they made a history , making Amazon's Blue Eyed Courier BLUE DART make a delivery to Pin code 201005 , which they refused to do for the past five years by simply claiming it's out of our delivery area and return the package . It cost them nothing to have their truck dump ti where it picked up from .Flip kart and few others on line companies modified their home page to show standard comment " Sorry we are unable to make deliveries to Pin code 201005 Currently " . Great use full product for home use at Incredible half price , Made in China for the American Market , beautiful strong Molded plastic which looks and feels good and durable , compare it with any Indian made plastic product any time , and all from a great seller too .
