I used this device in place of my old Sky box and watch and record TV using this USB device on a computer running TVHeadend. The connector on this is the same as on a Sky box so an existing standard Sky satellite install with screw connector on the coax cable will be fine for connecting to this device too. You can get similar devices for Freeview DVB-T2 but this DVB-S (S = satellite) requires a Satellite dish correctly installed and aligned **Q: What is the difference between the 460e & 461e?** A: The difference is in the digital television chipsets. The 461e has more modern chipsets for the tuner and the demodulator. **Q: Is this powered by the pc and is the dish lnb also powered by the pc ? also is the software for the pc free?** A: You have a separate power supply. All software included with a licence key. **Q: Does this work with a Samsung smart tv** A: Depends whether a Samsung smart TV has drivers built into it for this adaptor, and software for scheduling recordings. I'm assuming that the TV has suitable storage (eg USB hard drive) for receiving the recordings. It *may* be possible, but I'm highly sceptical. I've only ever used it with a Windows PC and a Raspberry Pi (both have drivers for the 461), using NextPVR or TVHeadend for scheduling and making recordings - which I think is the way it is intended to be used, unlike in a smart TV. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐ problems on windows 11 *by M***I on 4 January 2022* windows 11 installed the drivers just finewintv installed,updated the drivers,and installed just fine,wintv couldnt find any channel on 28.2e uk freesatfyi was hoping plex would work with it (seen a guy online who apparently managed to use this fine with plex on a laptop...but no luck it dint work we plex either ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Brilliant piece of kit. *by R***N on 18 January 2020* Does everything it is meant to. Set it up in no time. Works under Linux but you have to download firmware module. Could not use the remote on Linux, so I could not rate it, but it works by keyboard and mouse.
