The Colosseum

I bought this for my son for a school project. It took us a couple of hours to assemble it, and we had a good time working on it together. He kept saying how cool it was and was excited to show it at school. It is made well and is pretty durable. If I was offering advice on improving it, I would say that I'd like to have a way included in the kit to make it permanently assembled...maybe glue or tape to attach to the tabs underneath once that section is assembled. This isn't really the kind of puzzle you'd want to take back apart and re-work because the paper/cardboard tabs could easily bend and/or break off when being disassembled and would then not be reusable. Also, the instructions are only pictures (no words), so it takes a minute to figure out the process. Once you have the hang of it, it's super easy and lots of fun. My advice: just leave all the pieces attached to the cards they come on to keep it organized. Each piece is labeled with a small letter that corresponds with the instruction booklet, so leaving the pieces attached to the sheets until you're ready to use them seems to make it easier than flipping through each piece every time you need one. There is also a high-quality, full color National Geographic magazine/book that comes with it. That came in super handy for when my son presented it in class, and was a great teaching & learning tool for us. This is a great price for this item. I highly recommend and would definitely purchase this again.

I'm a 25-year-old college student who has never built a 3D puzzle before in my life, but this was honestly the most fun I've had in a long time. I've been into ancient history since I was a little kid, so while the booklet may be full of stuff I already knew, the information within is good and I encourage any parents with kids whose interests are as unique as mine were to get this for them. It's a good way to kill a few hours inside during this heat wave, for sure. If you're a childless adult like me, it's still fun to do! That's one of the major perks of this product, I'd say: it's challenging enough for adults, but it's a good educational tool for kids. I imagine all products in this line share that quality, so I'm gonna go ahead and buy my next set right now! Woohoo!

Great for my son’s social studies project. It was a fun challenge to put together.

The assembly of the item is easy to follow. It includes a brochure of Rome with photographs and language translations. Overall, the item is nice for display.

While I definitely wouldn’t say this puzzle is for kids under the age of maybe 15 due to its complexity, it was quite a bit of fun to build and looks better than I expected. It has many layers to it and takes a few hours, though I wish the instructions were a bit better because it can get confusing with some of the very tiny pieces. All the pieces are well cut out and fit together as they should though, with the exception of having to bend a few pieces more than I should but it was still fun to put together, with just the right amount of difficulty for a teenager/young adult.

Easy to put together and the detail was beautiful. Pay attention to the directions and you should have no problems. I love that you can remove a section and see the inside. Great value for your money. I would definitely buy another model from them. I have received many compliments on the model.

Quality less than desired or expected.

It took me and my 10yo son two hours to compete. We had a lot of fun and he was thrilled with the finished piece. I had to do some of the attachments that took a bit more dexterity, but he assembled about 90% by himself. It also comes with a nice, full color magazine of landmarks.
