Review: Perfect for a rented student room – privacy without losing the light - I bought this for my daughter’s bedroom at university. Her room faces directly onto the street and her bed is right next to the window, so we wanted to give her some privacy without making the room dark or having the curtains closed all day. This has worked really well. The frosted finish stops people being able to see clearly through the glass while still letting plenty of natural light into the room. It is very easy to put up. You measure the window and cut the film to size, clean the glass, spray the window with water, peel off the backing and position the film onto the wet glass. The water lets you move it around until it’s sitting straight, then you smooth the water and any air bubbles out towards the edges. There’s no glue or adhesive holding it in place, it stays on using static cling. That makes it particularly good for student accommodation and rented properties. When she moves out, we can just peel it back off again without leaving sticky residue or making any permanent change to the window. We bought the 44.5 x 200cm matt version and cut it to fit the glass. Such a simple solution , she still gets the daylight into her bedroom but has much more privacy from people walking past outside
Review: Good Opacity, Adhesion, Sizes Available & Reusable (good if you install incorrectly the first time!) - I purchased a roll of the white window film 75cm x 400cm to cover some windows in my conservatory, to provide a) some privacy from neighbours and b) to help reduce glare and UV from the sun. I decided to trial some on the door in the conservatory, as this is a plain glass pane and looks onto my neighbours. I thoroughly cleaned the window with some washing up liquid mixed well with Zoflora and water in a spray bottle and dried the window (not that I needed to of course but wanted to ensure it was completely clean before applying the film). I didn't want the full pane to be covered as we have a dog and I like to see when he's sat at the door so decided to have a gap. I can't cut straight so decided to put a wave in but kept the straight edge at the top. I can vouch for the reapplication being sound because when I applied it the very first time, I didn't put it on straight! So had to take it all off and reapply it. Application: I used clean water from a spray bottle to wet the window and peeled off the clear backing and placed the film onto the window and it clung instantly. I couldn't find the applicator I had previously bought so use an old bank card to smooth out the water and bubbles. it even clung to the PVS window frame. I did notice a few tiny bubbles appearing after application, but quickly realised that these areas needed a bit extra water as they had cleared when water was pushed through the area. These have been up over a week now and as I hadn't cut off the excess and is still covering the rubber seal on the window, I have noticed that it is starting to peel away from them. So will just go back and reapply some water and trim off the excess and see what happens after another week. I have just read that these window films aren't suitable in direct sunlight, yet say that it helps reduce the UV from the sun... I have installed this window film on a window that is in direct sunlight and have no issues with it at the moment (however, I can't see the edges as I have my tumble drier in from of the window, yes glorified utility room is my conservatory, and not from choice!). My small concern at the moment is, how to clean the windows/window film when they get dirty, because the surface not attached to the window is not smooth and will definitely attract dirt (seeing as I have tumble driers in there and it's a very old conservatory!), and previous experience with these types of surfaces have proved a little difficult to get clean. A good thing about these are that they are reusable and have no adhesive stickiness so won't really get stuck to itself should you end up dropping it towards itself. Dog hairs however love this! The static caused when removing the clear cover is amazing what it will suck to it and stick! Water does help remove this but ideally, keep pets away whilst installing! A little downside to these is the amount of water to be used and ends up all over the place when squeezing out, so get some good absorbent items to help mop it up as you squeeze it out. Otherwise, really is quite easy to install. I have used some colourful D-C Fix window film on a different window and even though they are less messy, can cause an issue if they end up getting stuck to itself... and I haven't found any D-C Fix window film that covers an are like this one. My window pane is 72cm high so this covers them perfectly after being trimmed after installation. I did need my husband to help me install this on the bigger windows though , as the window is too wide and high to apply this on my own. Ending note: I need to buy more as the roll just didn't quite fulfil the requirements (2 large windows and a door covered, need to cover another large window and 3 small windows)... so yes, I will be buying this again!

## Features

- One Way Window Film Privacy Protection at Daytime: Our one-way window film creates a mirror-like effect by reflecting light, thereby protecting your privacy while offering a clear view from the inside. Please note: With more indoor light at night and darker outside, the indoor mirror effect appears and outsiders can see in. Therefore, using curtains are necessary at night to keep privacy
- Enjoy Gentle Sunlight: Our silver window film blocks 80% of infrared rays and 99% of UV rays, based on precise measurements of actual objects, protecting your skin and preventing furniture from fading early. It also reduces harsh light, creating a comfortable environment filled with soft light
- Heat Reflective & Improved Comfort: Stay cool in summer and warm in winter. Infrared light carries heat energy, and our reflective window film is engineered with a mirror effect that reflects not only light but also heat, reducing the heat transfer through your window glass. This provides an immediate and cost-effective solution to minimize glare and create a more comfortable indoor environment for you and your family
- Useful Installation Tips: 1. During the application process, spray enough water liberally to prevent issues like excessive air bubbles or creases; 2. Facing a large film, it's recommended to have 2 people assist with the application. 3. To ensure that the mirror film does not easily slide off, our one way window film has an adhesive design. This film is also quite thin for visual effects, so it needs to be handled with care. You can receive guidance from us at any time
- Wide Application: This privacy film is suitable for any flat, clean, and smooth glass surface, including homes, offices, stores, and classrooms. Note: If your glass is of a special type or is installed in a way that makes it prone to issues, please ensure compatibility before making your selection

## Questions & Answers

**Q: This is another film that becomes see-through at night. Can anybody recommend a privacy film that we can see outside that works day and night? Thanks**
A: This kind of film doesn't exist. The only privacy films that do this are blackout privacy films, which will block all light too. Generally these privacy films assume you will draw your curtains or blinds in the evening, thus no longer needing the privacy film once it's dark outside.

**Q: Is it easy to remove when no longer required**
A: Very easy with the non adhesive type. This type is also easier to install if you follow the directions.

**Q: If I have 2 windows opposite to each other with this mirrored film can people still see inside from the street?**
A: Only when there’s a bright light on inside the house. In normal daylight no unless you go very close to the glass..

**Q: Will this stop my dog chasing random reflected rays of sunlight, by reducing the reflections and shadows?**
A: It does reduce the sunrays but not sure if enough to stop your dog :)

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Really impressed – easy to install and looks fantastic!
*by L***A on 13 October 2026*

I’m really pleased with this window film! I bought it for my kitchen windows to give me more privacy, and I’m so impressed with how it looks now it’s up. The installation was much easier than I expected. Using soapy water made it easy to position the film on the glass, and I found the whole process straightforward. I was pleasantly surprised by how simple it was to apply, and the finished result looks fantastic. The silver mirror effect on the outside gives the windows a lovely appearance while still allowing natural light into the kitchen. It’s a great alternative to curtains or blinds if you want a cleaner, more modern look. Overall, I’m really happy with this purchase. It looks great, was easy to install and has made a lovely difference to my kitchen windows. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an easy-to-apply privacy window film. Bit of advice make sure you don’t cut the film exactly the same size as your window as you need space to push out the soapy water with a squeegee.
