Authentic and good quality
These peach gum pellets are authentic and good quality. You do need to have the necessary knowledge to prepare it, as it is not intuitive and the minimal instructions on the package do not help much. Here's how I prepare my peach gum/jujube (red dates) soup, just for an idea:1. soak the peach gum in water for 24 hours (package says 12 hours and I found it not long enough). If you are concerned about bacteria growth, use filtered water/boiled water and replace the water a couple of times during the process. You can also let it sit in the refrigerator.2. rinse the gum with clean water. throw them into an instapot, add washed and pitted jujube, add water to cover all contents and not to exceed half the pot, add a handful of crystal rock sugar. Cook with the soup setting.3. done. Please note that peach gums do not have any strong taste. So to use them in desserts, you do need to add sugar or sweetner of your choice. It's hard to describe the texture of the cooked gums, I think maybe a hybrid of jelly and cooked boba pearls. I enjoyed mine and would gladly recommend it to others.

Contains collegen and trace minerals and good for skincare
As others have stated, this is not chewing gum, candy or even something that you can think of as a hard candy. It is a hard resin material that is as hard as a rock. You could probably pass this off as a gemstone; it’s that hard. How you use this is up to you. There are some suggestions on use, but you use it how you decide. Think of it this way, if you buy a can of salt, does it have recipes on the side of it or instructions of use? No, because the uses are almost infinite.I did a basic search on this and some of the suggestions were to put it in oatmeal or yogurt. I can see that. It needs to soak in water for around 24 hours and expands to a gelatinous mass before use. Most of these masses have a little dark pith on it that needs to be pulled or cut off. It’s just where the resin was pulled off the tree and a little bit of tree bark got caught on it.Looking at some of the benefits, I was surprised. This supposedly has a lot of collagen and other trace minerals in it. Some women swear by it as a healthful, beauty-enhancing food. If it does have the collagen in it and trace minerals, I can see that as why it's been used for so long.To me, this had very little taste at all. It’s a resin and so it’s not necessarily going to taste like peach. I tried boiling it and didn’t care for the results. I found to have gotten the best results from soaking this overnight.I do often eat oatmeal for breakfast and it’s known to be very healthy for you. That is, basic oatmeal and not the processed little packages. I usually just put oatmeal in a bowl, add a bit of flavored gelatin and microwave. Gelatin is healthy as well and for the amounts I’m putting in, there’s very little sugar going in it. Or, black strap molasses is good in oatmeal and a better alternative as it contains iron.Since this has little flavor and does have a soft but not mushy texture, this would fit right in with preparing it for mixing in oatmeal. There are a lot of things out there that most of us have never heard of and sometimes such foods can be gems in the rough. In this case, the product actually looks like a gem in the rough.I do plan on using it in oatmeal that’s flavored with a little molasses or flavored gelatin. A little bit of this product goes a long ways. You don’t want to make too much of it up at one time.

Interesting ingredient, new texture
I had never tried this before, but I was curious. I soaked 10 g of the gum in water overnight for a day at cool room temperature. After I removed the few little specks of debris from the soaked gum I had about 100g of rehydrated peach gum. The pieces held their shape very well, and ranged from totally clear to a medium amber color. After looking at some recipes online, I ended up simmering the gum in enough water to cover, adding a small handful of dried cranberries (since I don’t have any goji berries). Once it had thickened a bit I added a bit of brown sugar. I ate it warm, and it was really tasty. I tasted the peach gum on its own and it did not have much noticeable flavor. The texture is really interesting: it is very soft, but also crunchy in a strange way (it reminds me of something but I cannot place it). From what I can see this seems to be a high quality product, and I look forward to experimenting with other recipes using it.
