The curved bar around the front is a handle. Raise it to a vertical position (it pivots), the round black front part will move forwards so that you can drop a capsule in the top. If you look down into the opening you will see which way to put the capsule. Silver side to the back. Move the handle back to horizontal and switch it on.

Does I think come with UK plug?

No it has a 2 pin euro style plug. You can buy from RS electrical a converter plug which does not require any wring SCP3 Power Connections a bit ugly but very easy to use
