Q: Will this work with a wallet phone case on the phone?

It did not work for me. I do like the mount, so changed to a better case for my iPhone max.

Q: Will this fit a samsung galaxy note 20 ultra?

Note 20 ultra is nominally 3” wide. The mount handles up to 4” wide.

Q: will this fit a 1 1/2 inch pole

Yes, it holds well on round or square poles. The big problem I have with it is the cellphone does not stay in place-as I drove over the uneven terrain of the golf course the weight of the phone causes it to fall out of its vertical position, causing me to have to frequently manually adjust it. I took the holder apart where the cellphone attaches and put super glue in the joint before re-tightening it. Hopefully this will work. If not I will likely return it before the Jan.31 deadline. Reviewers are overwhelming positive about this item, so maybe "it's just me!" Good luck! barry

Q: Will this tighten up enough to hold tightly on a 1/2" diameter pole?

I doubt it will. When fully tightened, its about 1/2 inch. But as you can see in the video, this includes the layer of the inner lining inside the clamp. If the lining wears off, it won't hold tightly. Even with the lining intact, it doesn't look like it will hold very tightly on a 1/2 inch pole.
