Great kettle. Easy fill, easy pour and has a good chunky feel without being child-like.The problem is that the colour of the base is silver, not black as shown in the photographs in the product description on Amazon. In fact, even on the box itself it has a photograph of the kettle sat on a black base. I also bought the matching toaster, which has a photograph of the matching kettle, where the base is black.I bought this item particularly for the black base. Otherwise I would have bought it elsewhere.I was thinking of returning it out of principle, but its such a hassle, I'll just make a cup of tea instead.

This kettle is fabulous. Very stylish. Great value for money. The numbers are large and I like that you can see the water boiling behind the numbers. The on button is also large and easy to flick on, it lights up red too when on. I love that the kettle feels a bit retro to me with it's round style and round on button. I love the shiney black, I think it's easier to keep visibly clean compared to matt black or steel. The lid doesn't need detached to fill & this is a big plus in my book. I have never thought about 'the pour' before with a kettle but read about it a lot in previous reviews. Now I realise! The pour is excellent, it pours at a great angle requiring less of a tip. I also think this means less spills, certainly less than my previous kettle. It's also light weight. I'm very glad our old kettle packed in, I just love this one.

Lightweight ergonomic design , easy to judge fill line , steady pouring from spout, quick boil. no nasty plastic taste from new.

Overall pleased with this kettle. Nice size and weight, spout pours well. However, I would have preferred it to continue to boil for a couple of seconds longer. I think they are all the same nowadays - energy saving.

I have always had dualit kettles which have been great, but I have to say I am not impressed with this one as the lid keeps opening as it's coming to the boil which I find to be unsafe.

Love this kettle. Not the quietest but that doesn't bother me. Arrived on times and in excellent condition.

I hate planned obsolescence - and this Dualit has broken, like so many other kettles, after two and a half years...perhaps it's naive of me to think its possible to buy a kettle that lasts longer but clearly buying Dualit is no guarantee of longevity...my cheap office 15 quid job from the supermarket is still going after 5 years...perhaps because they can't afford the "design to fail" ethos. Avoid.
