Admittedly we have not used it yet but wanted to put an initial review on assembly. We will be driving 40 hours in the next week so will update the review post our trip. Pros: 1. Took maybe 10 minutes to put together. You will need 17, 19 and 24 wrenches and sockets to make it extra speedy. This is not mentioned in the instructions so could be a point of frustration for people. 2. Seems pretty durable 3. The anti-rattle stabilizer is definitely needed Cons: 1. The wing nut bolt that holds the sides down when folded does not have a mechanism to retain the bolt should it loosen going down the road. If that wing nut bolt comes out the sides of the rack would fall against your car and scratch the heck out of it. 2. The receiver bolt makes for a not so easy on/off of the vehicle. A receiver pin vs 88 bolt would have a bigger load rating and make for quick and easy on/off vehicle install. Adding to the review after our cross country roadtrip: still 5 stars! Held up great and loved that we could fold it up once we unloaded everything. The only thing that we noticed that would be nice is if the bars were slightly skinnier so that straps could hook on better.

Worked as described. Easy to put together and install. 2" attachment fit easily into trailer hitch w/o problem! You definitely want to get the hitch stabilizer as it reduces wobble. Needed something to expand cargo capacity of my Subaru Outback to allow for our dog & foster dog to go camping at the beach with us. Carrier fit RTIC 32Qt ultra light cooler, 1 large rubbermaid bin, a beach wagon, camp stove, charcoal fire chimney, 1 boogie board, and 2 x 2.5 gallon water jugs. Still able to open the back hatch on the outback to get the dogs into the cargo area of the car. Our older lab needed to be picked up as he's not as mobile. Our foster dog jumped right up! Great addition to our Kangaroo cargo carrier that we strap on top of the Subaru to pack the tents, canopies, sleeping bags, hammocks, and chairs. Folds up well, and easily stores out of the way in the garage w/o taking up any extra room.

The KAIRAY 500 Lbs Heavy Duty Hitch Mount Cargo Carrier was a great addition to my Jeep Wrangler for camping trips. It was super easy to put together and provided tons of extra space for things like firewood, an ice chest, and more. It’s large and sturdy, which made a huge difference in packing for our trips. I was also able to use my bike carrier on the spare tire, even with the cargo carrier attached—though it was a bit tight, it worked fine. Definitely a great upgrade to our camping supplies! Highly recommend for anyone needing extra storage space.

I purchased this rear cargo carrier to put on my hitched-up Kia Soul, and was really pleased with the ease of assembly and how smoothly it attached to the hitch itself. I took this on a cross-country trip, literally driving from the West Coast to the East Coast, through rainstorms, dust storms and crazy drivers galore. This held up beautifully, and the amount that you can store on this is crazy! I was limited by my hitch carry capacity, but have zero doubts this beast would hold the 500 lbs it advertises. My only complaint is that when I arrived on the east coast, unfortunately it was showing signs of rust. After 6 days of rain and shine. I was conflicted on how to rate this carrier, and the solid build really adds that fourth star for me, despite the rust now forming where it connects to the hitch. For the price it's a great value and will get you where you need to go! Just wish that it was truly rustproof, for future adventures.

once assembled, I really put it to work. It's easy to load. The fold up feature is great. Very well made.
