Essential, easy-to-use water purifier with no installation required
The AquaTru Carafe Countertop Water Purifier has become an essential part of my daily life. I use it for every glass of water I drink. Its simple, straightforward operation makes it very easy to live with, and it’s especially well suited for apartment dwellers since it requires no plumbing or permanent installation. Despite being a countertop unit, it uses standard, easy-to-replace filters, which I really appreciate. Filter changes are simple and don’t feel proprietary or overcomplicated. For renters, this makes long-term ownership much less of a hassle. Water quality is where this system really stands out. The city I live in heavily overcompensates for known bacteria issues, which causes tap water to smell and taste strongly of chlorine. The AquaTru removes both the taste and odor completely. The difference is immediate and very noticeable, resulting in clean, neutral-tasting water. I also really like the glass carafe. It looks good on the counter, feels solid and pleasant to handle, and helps reduce my concerns about microplastics in drinking water compared to plastic containers. After daily use, I’ve picked up a few tips that make ownership even smoother: 1. Always fully empty and rinse the intake tank before refilling it. Some water remains after filtering, but it’s dirty water from the filtration process and should be discarded. 2. Remove the carafe before placing the tank back onto the unit to avoid fighting the vacuum pressure created by the pump. 3. Make sure all filters are fully seated before operating the purifier. Overall, this is a well-designed, reliable countertop water purifier that delivers excellent results without installation hassles. If you’re dealing with unpleasant-tasting tap water and want a simple, apartment-friendly solution, the AquaTru Carafe is absolutely worth it.

Easy to set up. Size of a midsize coffee maker. Love the taste. Should of purchased this sooner !
Update - 4/15/ 2025 I replaced my PRE filter on 4-14-25 and my VOC filter on 4-15-25.That is just a little over 6 month life span for those 2 filters. My water is considered moderately hard. It in my opinion a 6 month life span for 6 carafes filtered daily is a good performance. I just purchased the descaling Kit and have yet to use it. My Carafe is still preforming well, with no issues _____________________________ Update since I have received it Purchased during October Prime Day 2024 Still, nothing to complain about. The unit is a nice size for my counter. It still makes great-tasting water. To the manufacturer - Can you make the unit in Blue? How about a stainless steel carafe top instead of a plastic top? (My Opinion) The cost of filters on Amazon is overpriced. Why so expensive? Go to the manufacturer's website, they are less expensive, pick yourself up a few 3-set filter replacements Background. Tap water drinker dislikes the taste and cost of bottled water but also hate the taste of tap water. Pain in the butt to reclaim deposits on bottle empties. Try not to be subjected to Microplastic particles where I can help it. Uses an ample amount of Lemon and Lime juice to kill the chlorine smell and lousy taste of my tap water. Took advantage of the prime deal for this water purifier and am extremely happy with the results and difference made to what I am now drinking. The taste and smell of my tap water is night and day. I'm so excited, and happy that I have been processing large batches of purified water and handing out samples to others to try. Pros Easy to set up. Small form factor- the size of a mid-size coffee maker. Cartridges snap right in Time to purify after the initial 4 x flushing is pretty quick Great tasting water without the plastic water bottles and required need to recycle Will eliminate my need for lemon or lime juice My water no longer smells like my pool was just treated ! Cons I can find nothing to complain about Things to Know. There is a small amount of waste water produced for each batch purified that must be discarded but let us put this in perspective. You no longer have to purchase water in plastic bottles (that is good for the environment and your pocket ) No need for costly water subscriptions or lugging home cases of water or bottles I got all three replacement filters for 54.00 dollars with additional tax and shipping If you feel bad dumping the wastewater back into the sink you can find useful things to use it for like plant water.

The best RO on the market
This reverse-osmosis water filter that doubles as a chic countertop carafe amd has also become the MVP of my camping trips, turning questionable camp ground hookups into mineral-rich sips worthy of a five-star resort—no more aftertaste! Its filtration feels like sending your water through a VIP spa treatment, stripping out both chlorine and heavy metals while recharging the H₂O with alkalizing minerals so it tastes clean, fresh, and faintly “mountain spring” despite my tent being parked in a dusty field. Setup was so painless even my less-techy wife conquered it in under five minutes, and the compact footprint meant it fit perfectly on our camp table without hogging all the space. Bonus: watching the gauge move as it purifies feels like cheering for a tiny water-powered race car, which surprisingly turns every pour into a mini celebration. If you’re ready to upgrade your wilderness hydration game, this clever little carafe is your new best friend—just don’t blame me when your friends start camping with you for the water.

Best water filter for countertops
Very effective and efficient water filter system. Doesn't take up much more space than a coffee maker and works within minutes. I have a full pitcher of water filtered within about 10 minutes. Tested my water with a PH strip and it came out at the highest level for purity and PH balance. Taste is amazing and the glass pitcher is a must for me. Highly recommend!

Almost perfect countertop RO
Update: the RO filter failed completely in less than 6 months. From April to Sept of the same year. About 2 pitchers per day of water. So 1/5th the expected life. AquaTru customer support basically told me to go pound sand. So consider this not as advertised and one of the most expensive filters you will ever have the misfortune of buying. Update 2: Using my backup RO fliter also on city water, I got 3 months of lifespan out of it. I will be disposing of this unit and buying something else. I personally really like the pitcher design. It works using magnets in the tank and semi hidden in the pitcher lid so it knows when to shut off and not spill water. The GLASS pitcher is a huge win for me since I detest the idea of my clean water sitting in any kind of plastic. The pitcher format is also much, much more useful than the spout format the wedge shaped unit which limited how tall a cup you could put under it, often needing a "Transfer glass" if you wanted to fill a tumbler or something with clean water. And yes it does a superb job of filtering my local tap water. It has that slightly ionized, "hose water" taste that distilled water has meaning this unit is getting *everything* out the water. Testing the water with a solids tester and testing strips also returned zeros on everything. So it works, and you can run a small swimming pool's woth the water through it before you need to swap filters. Also do be aware this filter requires "clear" water as input as its intended to filter tap water. Its not made to filter pond water or something cloudy. It will clog up and the manual states as such. So if you are planning to refine a heinously filthy water source, you need to clean to "clear" first with another method. I switched to filtered water only because I was getting swelling in my feet out of nowhere. I'm healthy, I don't eat terribly, I was confused. I have heard however that prescription medication metabolites are now endemic in our water supplies, and that toxic pollution of waterways is actually higher than ever before. So we are drinking a toxic soup of 10,000 different diluted drugs, illegal drugs, industrial, and agricultural pollution. So I changed to filtered water. All my ankle swelling problems vanished. See bottled drinks, they all use filtered water to control for taste. Brewing coffee and tea, the coffee in particular partially filters the water its steeped in. But when you want actual straight H20...yah don't trust the tap. The whole thing couldn't have been easier to set up and its fast, filtering a pitcher of water in like 8 minutes. The input tank's design is good too, as it has the seals on the bottom meaning the weight of the water pushes it down into its seals. So far no leaks. My biggest annoyance and what I see to be a flaw in its design is the input/tap water tank is too small. It fills 1 and 1/2 pitchers worth of water. Because this unit is made to always leave some water in the input tank to rinse its membrane, the tank then never fully empties. And you cannot top it up because its an RO filter the "waste" is being washed back into the input tank, so you can't run it empty. Thus I am constantly dumping and refilling the input tank.

A great addition to my home
I've had this system for about 5 weeks. I love it. Water quality is excellent. I can finally stop toting bottles of spring water. It's not quite perfect—it's a little hard to get the reservoir to seat correctly sometimes. But overall, it's simple to assemble and use. Fills the carafe in about 15 minutes. I have endless clean water with little maintenance. I add minerals to the filtered water before drinking because the RO filter takes them out. I live in a tiny home and this compact system fits comfortably into my limited space.

Really great water purifier!
I really like my AquaTru Carafe water purifier. The water out of it tastes great. I actually had the larger model previously but never liked that the drinking water was always sitting in a plastic bin. With this carafe model, while it does still have some plastic, the carafe is glass. What would be really good is if they made a glass lid too (Aqua Tru, if you're listening hint hint)! I ended up being able to sell the larger unit to a neighbor (she is really happy with it) so I then bought this carafe version. This unit takes up a bit less space on my counter and at first I thought it would be less convenient to have to pour the water out of the carafe each time but I enjoy the look and feel of of the glass carafe. And if I ever want to, I can just bring the whole carafe full of water to the dining table or to my home office, etc., which is convenient and encourages me to stay hydrated. The unit is quiet and seems reliable and easy to use. Filters easy to install and easy to learn the system and understand the controls. I also like the size of the carafe - it's perfect to be able to lift and pour out of and feels great in your hand. And, you want to be filtering water fairly often to avoid stagnant water. I prefer to add my own mineral drops to the purified water to make my own mineral water. I use Omni Blue ocean minerals which I believe is a more complete and natural mineral supplement as you are getting all the minerals of the ocean. Pro tip - the little filter tool can be stored (upside down) right underneath the RO filter in the back of the unit, so you don't lose it. There is a nice cutout there for it (see my picture). 4.5 stars, it would be a total 5 stars if the carafe lid were glass too but this is the best water purifier and has also been lab tested as such. I recommend it!

Amazing taste difference
This is very easy to set up. It works great- the difference in the taste of the water is nothing short of amazing . There are only 2 people in my house. It is the perfect size for the 2 of us. If you have more people- I suggest getting a larger purifier.
