It percolates and makes coffee. The rest is up to you. I use freshly ground beans . I've timed how long it takes experimented with the amount of coffee I like for the cup of coffee I enjoy. One big tip I can share with anyone who doesn't have experience with this kind of coffee maker. You need to season it kind of like a cast iron skillet. Fill The basket and percolate it for a good hour. Let it sit all night with that strong coffee in there and from here on out just rinse it no need to scrub with soap and water. I do run a small brush threw the stem about once a week to ensure it doesn't get clogged up over time with buildup. With a little care this will be the last time you'll ever buy a coffee maker. I am the only coffee drinker in my house so I generally only make four cups but I can make 8 cups when I have company that may enjoy coffee. Keep in mind this is referring to 8 oz cups Most people drink almost if not double that amount in their morning coffee mug. That's something you should consider and buy the right size coffee pot for your household needs. It's not as convenient or time efficient as a drip coffee pot. But in my opinion and taste and those are very subjective to each person with that in mind , this makes a much better cup of coffee and worth the extra effort to me. From the time I start till I'm pouring my coffee in the cup including grinding the beans is about 20 min. I set a timer and its ready when I go out the for work. Also you should let it sit a few minutes before pouring so any grounds that sneak through the basket settle to the bottom and will not end up in your cup unless you pour the last little bit in it, If you use a coarse ground coffee you don't need a filter so in my opinion this gives you a much better cup of coffee because the filter takes away some of the oils that add flavor to your coffee. But if you're happy with store-bought already ground coffee, get the filters that they sell for these and it works just fine. After reading through some of the negative reviews ones that says this makes a horrible cup of coffee that is 100% user error. I did see reports of the electric one leaking keep in mind I am reviewing the stove top version One lady said the glass on top broke there any number of reasons for this but I have not had any issues with mine possibly she got a cracked one? A few people stated that the handle caught on fire or melted I think this would really be subject to the size of your burner or possibly an electric burner If you had a larger diameter circle of fire or heat than the outside diameter of your actual coffee pot this could very easily be an issue. So use a little caution and place your coffee pot so the handle isn't directly over flames reaching around the pot or heat traveling straight up from an electric burner to the handle. With a gas stove this could be circumvented with placement as well as not turning the heat up so high that the circle of fire is bigger than the coffee pot. Someone said the experienced wobble as if the metal was probably too thin and it didn't work right for them I'm guessing they had it on a electric burner? I have not experienced this on my gas burner. People also mention the metallic taste one person even said hopefully after a few uses and washings that will go away that will not go away if you do not season your coffee maker. From what I saw The majority of bad reviews for this coffee maker come from user error on the opinion based on lack of experience with this type of coffee maker. I am not saying this is the best one ever made It is a moderate priced stove top stainless steel percolator. The one I received the build quality was fine It does what is designed to do. If you say your pot makes crappy pasta chances are you are just not good at cooking pasta take a little time and learn how to do it right and you will enjoy it.

After my nnnnth# electric dripmaker quit, I decided NO MORE electric drips. I needed a pot fast and this was a good price. This arrived quickly; it was well packaged. This pot took no longer than my electric drip overall. The coffee is delicious, full flavored and is not bitter. For no grounds, I took the pot off the heat, waited until it stopped perking, poured a drop of cold water down the spout, and poured. Then i set the pot back on the hot burner to keep it warm., It stayed hot for two hours. The insert was in when I poured because I couldn't open the lid. I had two cups of no ground, delicious coffee. Tips: The first time you get it, wash it with dishsoap or vinegar and water and rinse thoroughly, to get manufacturing residue out, but after this never use soap in it again. Just vinegar water. Rinse well. The easiest way to clean is to perk white vinegar water with the insert in. Get a straw cleaner brush or chenille pipe cleaner so you can scrub out the tube on occasion. Do not fill to spout level. Tap the basket lightly to settle the grounds even. Be sure the basket lid is firmly on. I used three tbsp. scoops of reg ground coffee. Coarse ground is recommended, but you can use any reg ground coffee. Use the drop of cold water in the spout trick to have ground-free coffee. The pot lid has to be set flush for it to perk. It will click and you can't open it. I had a time opening it after the coffee cooled, but my pot was not fully cold. It is really tight! I will try when it is cold and see if it opens easier. I love the coffee pot and like that I don't need electricity. I can use a portable burner if needed. Overall, I would highly recommend this coffeepot. It is a good gauge stainless steel.

Well made and makes amazing coffee! The knob is actually glass and has a silicone ring to prevent leakage from the knob. Update: I tried it without a paper filter, but noticed too many fine particles. This is very nice. It's cheap, but it makes coffee ☕️ taste real good. I have two electric coffee pots and a electric perculator but a stove top perculators brews better

I give this 5 stars because it is a good coffee pot for the money. This is my first percolator for on top of stove. I had an electric one years ago and liked it because it was very hot coffee. But I did feel like the coffee became bitter after it sat for a bit. Anyway this pot is nice. I have a gas stove and I put it on the smallest eye. So the handle is not over the flame. I fill it to the top line inside with water. 8 scoops of course ground coffee. Turn the eye to almost high maybe 8. It takes 20 minutes to begin to boil and start perking. I turn it down to a much lower temperature and perk for 7 minutes. Turn the eye off and let it sit for a couple minutes. The handle is not too hot to pick up. The coffee is very hot! If you fill it with water to the top line inside it will make about 40 oz of coffee. I do not remove the inside basket because it still drains for awhile. I also put the pot on a warming pad ( bought from Amazon) that will keep it hot for several hours. Things to be aware of: Make sure you tighten the glass top on the lid or it may fall off Be careful with the spring inside on the metal tube it also wants to fall off without knowing it It’s very easy to clean Be prepared that it will be 30 minutes before you get coffee So far I am enjoying mine. I have several different coffee makers. But I am getting away from the Keuric because of the plastics

I got tired of using plastic Kcups and my coffee maker didn’t hold up. So I decided to go back to basics. I really like this percolator. It heats up quickly, looks really nice. Brews up much quicker than I thought that it would. I just set it up and watch the clock since it doesn’t make much noise. Easy to clean.

I have been using a greak which is like a mini version of this which is less fanicer made of aluminum sold on amazon or walmart, etc on web. let me tell you it makes cloudy coffee which is not as dark and only make 1 3/4 cups at a time. 2 of us drink coffe 2x a day so it gets inconvenent to keep making it. was looking for a bigger greka, but they break easily and are flimsy and I saw this on amazon. the stainless is beautiful looks almost chromed on outside. might be. works the same as a greka but I fill it to the 8cups water line and put 6 tsbs of cofee in it. i use cafe santo domingo which is almost the same as hawaiin coffee. a little strong but fresh very smooth and not very acidic. bustelo give me heartburn and is not the same. but this thing makes a very dark brown more dark then the greka with less coffee. for instance in the medium greka i used 2 tpbs of coffee wiht 1 3/4 cups of water, with this thing i use 8 cups of water and 6 tbsp of coffee. so you use way less coffee over time, and the brew tastes better, has virtually no coffee grjnds in it. sure it takes a little longer to brew bc its 8 cups, but i store it in the fridge. but you can just make 2 cups if you like or any amt. anyone who is a coffee drinker besides decaf (maybe they would like it do, but most decaf drinkers i know dont like strong coffee. but any coffe drinker would like this. forget the cofee machines wiht a paper filter, that isnt cofee. you can even make dunkin donuts or whatever cofee you like in this. head to head this will win 10/10 times over a regular coffee makes which only heats the water and doesnt actually boil it. I never liked those electric cofee makers the cofee never tatstes so great even with the same great coffee. try it you wont be disappointed and makes a great gift. its fun to watch the water hit the top and then change to dark brown as you wait.

Love it. Takes a couple of tries to find out how long you should let it perk so that it’s the strength you like your coffee. I also use a filter so that coffee grounds are not in the coffee. It’s exactly the right size for me. Takes about 20 minutes to make coffee that I like.

Haven't been able to find a decent percolator for ages. In 1978, I was made to purchase a filter/cone machine to replace defunct (over 20 years) electrical 12 cups percolator (it was GE brand). Strangely enough, percolators disappeared off the shelves around the 1980s. Only commercial ones were available. Recently, our last filter/cone drip coffee machine died after 6 years. Needless to say, I didn't want another one which doesn't keep coffee warm long enough. Therefore, my search for the perfect percolator... With the EC008 Stovetop model from Elite Gourmet, it was the perfect choice. I use my single 1500W hotplate unit. 30minutes from beginning to end on MAX. Simply amazing! Cannot fault it at all. Easy to use, easy to clean and the 8 cups quantity gives each of us 2 full cups. The flavour is definitely better than drip. It enhances the ground coffee here in UK. I definitely recommend 👍👍👍

Llegó en perfectas condiciones. El café que se prepara es delicioso, el instructivo tiene una tabla que sugiere cuantas cucharadas de café usar dependiendo el número de tazas; eso puede variar dependiendo del gusto. Para los que nos gusta un sabor fuerte sugiero usar una cucharada extra de los indicado. Los únicos inconvenientes: hay que ser muy cuidadoso al lavarlo porque el pivoté es de cristal, además de que requiere un lavado muy meticuloso principalmente en los tubos por donde sube el café y no dura mucho tiempo caliente la bebida pero se puede recalentar el café retirando los pivotes. La recomiendo
