I’ve been using these seed sprouter trays for starting seeds, and they have made the process much easier. The trays are a convenient size, easy to rinse, and work well for soil-free growing. I like being able to watch the roots develop and monitor the progress without disturbing the plants. The multiple-pack design is great because I can have several batches growing at different stages at the same time. They are simple to use, don’t take up much space, and are perfect for anyone who enjoys gardening, growing microgreens, or starting seeds indoors. Overall, these are a great value and a practical addition for anyone who wants a simple way to grow fresh sprouts at home.

These trays are wonderful and I use them for other purposes too. I separate seeds with them. Yes I can grow microgreens too. I bought more because they are useful.

More seeds not enough seeds

These are great for growing microgreens. the white inner tray is good for larger seeds, but you may need to use either a paper towel or growing paper on top of it for smaller seeds like alfalfa. I add water daily to the green tray. The trays are easy to use and sturdy. I started growing microgreens using a small 5x5 tower of small trays but I like these much better.

I decided to try these before I spent a ton of money on bootstrap farmer 1020 trays just to see if microgreens would work. These trays worked very well except for the dark phase in microgreens when you have to cover the seedlings with an empty tray to block out the light. Very hard to balance one tray upside down on top of another tray but then again, that's not what these were made for. I use bulldog clips to keep then from sliding around. The microgreens came out really well. So far have grown speckled peas, daikon radish and broccoli seeds. All turned out great!

I was in need of additional trays, and these arrived feeling slightly sturdier, slightly bigger, and slightly deeper than my old ones. They seem to be maybe 1/4"-ish larger in length and width. My problems with these trays are that: 1) the mesh tray is so deep that when in the green tray, roots have no more than ~1/4" to develop, which also means the roots stay waterlogged and very tightly compacted; and 2) the perforations in the mesh trays are incomplete such that there's still a thin layer towards the center of the trays that require you to take a poker through to allow for drainage. By the way, i grow without soil; perhaps soil-growers may fare better because there's ever-so-slight an ability to drain the water, as the roots will grow mostly in the soil and not below the mesh as with straight hydroponics. That's my take on the way I grow my microgreens. In side-by-side comparisons with my other trays of similar appearance, these did not perform well due to the problems that I noted above, insufficient drainage and room for the roots to develop. So, I must return them and find more trays like my original. Like I said, that's my take on the way I grow my microgreens.

These sprouting trays are wonderful, especially for large consumption! The paper they come with, tho, does not allow the roots to grow through so paper towel seems to work better. I'm my video, the dragon fruit on the paper has been growing for 6 weeks and has to be sprayed worth water 3 times a day. The bean sprouts have been for a well and just needs water below.

Praktische Anzuchtschalen für Sprossen. Das Foto zeigt meinen ersten Versuch Sprossen auf diese Weise zu ziehen. Ich bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Ergebnis. Habe die Sprossensamen zunächst in der grünen Schale übernacht in Wasser eingeweicht. Das Wasser anschließend vorsichtig über eine der Vertiefungen am schmaleren Rand abgegossen (dabei mit einer Hand Sprossen zurückhalten). Die kleinen Samen 2 Tage in der Schale belassen, 2x täglich mit Sprühflasche bewässert und das umgedrehte Sieb als Schutzkuppel benutzt. Dann die Schale mit Wasser gefüllt und die Samen nach und nach in ein zweites Anzuchtset gegossen. Dabei zwischendurch Samen die durchs Sieb gerutscht sind wieder in dieses zurücklegen und das Wasser abgießen. 2 weitere Tage von oben und unten mit Sprühflasche bewässert, dann waren die Wurzel lang genug , um das Wasser aus der Schale zu trinken. Um das Wasser zu wechseln und einzelne durchgrutsche Samen zu retten, nutze ich eine zweite Schale, die ich ca. 1 cm hoch mit Wasser fülle und das Sieb in diese Stelle. Ich könnte also in 9 Anzuchtschalen gleichzeitig Sprossen züchten und die zehnte Schale für den Wasserwechsel nutzen.
