Got this for my 3d printer. Does not work ...
Got this for my 3d printer. Does not work at 5v unfortunately, but it does state a minimum of 6v, so I'm ain't going to hold that against it.I Have it set up by wiring it to my 12v power supply, with a diode in reverse on the signal line to stop the 12v signal going to the mainboard when not triggered. This then allows 5v to flow out from the signal pin on the mainboard when the signal rail is shunted to ground when the sensor detects the hotbed.

industrial quality
This is a very well built proximity sensor. I am using it for a model train. Easy to wire up and has a fairly long cable making it suitable for other applications (garage parking/door closing etc). No instructions apart from the label showing the wiring diagram, however, there are plenty of useful videos on youtube explaining how it works and how to connect.

Great item. Works well.
Super item. Works well. I used this as a bed level sensor on my 3D printer with a glass bed.Has a screw on the top to adjust the sensitivity. Best drop some nail varnish on this to make sure it can't move once you have set it up.

Great for an ANET A8 3D printer
I wanted this for my anet A8 3d printer. It works fine with the 5v supply available from the endstop socket.I found that a number of other sensors I have tried were not sensitive enough to work through a glass bed.

... it up but now that I did it works fine and bed adhesion is not a issue anymore
Took me some time to set it up but now that I did it works fine and bed adhesion is not a issue anymore.

Rs equivalent cost £120 so for around £3 this is unbelievable. Tested and works perfectly

Perfect for your RepRap 3D printer - successfully detects glass bed (unlike the inductive sensors).
