Maxpedition travel tray
Ideal for a bedside table, somewhere to pocket dump after a long day. High quality materials, buy once never buy again.

Great idea that delivers!
Robust and flexible. Really useful when out in the field doing photography or using my radios - keeps all your little "nik naks and doobries" together and isolated from the ground. Love the way that this flattens and can be stored flat in your rucksack or rolled up if you prefer. Not cheap, but worth the investment.

Very handy if you're in a hammock! Well made and thought out bit of kit as expected from Maxpedition. Only gripe is the pricey tag.

Very simply idea which makes travelling just that little less stressful
I travel a lot and often spend my time trying to find my watch, keys, wedding ring and other assorted nic nacs I've left laying around the room. This is a very simple and elegant solution to that problem. Made form high quality materials the travel tray fastens at each corner to make a tray which I can securely keep all my items in. It's design means that is it's perfect flat for packing taking up next to no room in your travel case. This is the first thing I unpack when I arrive in my room.

Corral small items, keep them off hard surfaces. Stiff poppers. Bulges a bit. Pricey.
It's an enclosed small tray comprising a base that softish but firm, ditto walls, a strap to contain things or to hang it from (e.g. using a hanging strap through it), and three slim pockets offering some storage variety (one full-width pocket and two shorter ones each half-width). You can get lots in. It's the ideal way to corral items, especially when travelling or camping. Much better than leaving items loose on a table or ground sheet. No risk of scratches from a hard surface. It folds flat for economy of storage in a suitcase or rucksack. Well-made and robust, as you'd expect from Maxpedition products. I'd call this an "essential luxury": it looks neat, you feel organised (I feel a bit stressed if I'm in a muddle), and it's easier to remember to pack the little items when they're all together inside the tray. It's functional but looks good. The poppers are engraved "MAXPEDITION" and the popper colours help form the design. It's unisex. I even like the alliterative name "Tactical Tray": makes it sound beefier than simply "Tray"! - would they sell as many without "Tactical"? A few cons but not deal-breakers. The poppers require great force to do up and undo; I can't always manage them but hopefully they'll loosen over time. The tray doesn't sit totally flat and the sides bulge a bit compared to the advert photos. Very expensive for what it is, at 24quid95. I wanted all-black but it cost 6quid more. However, khaki's mix of black and khaki looks darned good. Not to be confused with Maxpedition's 'Folding Valet Tray' (available on Amazon) which is the same but has no pockets or strap but does have a carry loop.
