Fab bit of kit
A great bit of kit, though would occasionally refuse to boot Mac Pro 3,1 (Early 2008) so I moved one SSD to an internal SATA2 port and put the other two on the Sonnet as data drives for aperture library etc.Fabulous transfer speeds with a Samsung SSD 500GB drive btw, using Black magic disk tester I was getting 500MBps write and approx 650 read. This refusal to boot is more likely an issue with my Mac Pro as another PCI-e card by Apricot does the same.

This is an excellent PCIe SATA card
This is an excellent PCIe SATA card. Stuck it in my 2008 Mac Pro and am topping out 2 SSD's at over 500MB/s! Well worth the money for sure!

It fits the Mac Pro's from 2006 - 2012
I noticed a couple of one-star reviews about this card that mentioned it 'won't fit' in the PCI slots of a cMP (Classic Mac Pro tower also referred to as a Cheese-grater).It WILL fit! I've done it like other people who've read the instructions properly or googled the Mac Pro + PCI. Long PCI cards slot into the grey fan box at the left-hand end of the PCI slots, but it's very important to note that the fan box has a small white button on the top right. If pressed in it allows the fan box to slide to the left and at the same time move the silver retaining bar that fits in the 'hook' under longer PCI cards to the left so cards can be inserted.Once the card has been inserted the fan box is moved back to the right, and this slides the retaining bar into the 'hook' AND moves a part of the grey fan box over the end of the long PCI card to prevent wobble. If you try and fit ANY medium to long PCI card you'll have to move this grey fan box to install a PCI card.

WARNING! DOES NOT FIT MAC PRO
Bought this to add an additional SSD to my mac pro to run an additional OS as I have media drives in all the 'standard bays'. Despite checking the spec, listing and various online sites THIS CARD DOES NOT FIT IN A MAC PRO IF EXTENDED TO TAKE TWO SDDs! The card is simply too long and hits the internal fan and does not even come close to fitting. If you have a mac pro look at an alternate option. The real shame of it is that the extension board is way longer than actually required to support the second SSD so if it was manufactured about 15mm shorter it would fit. What a farcical piece of design!

Plug and Play in a Mac Pro 2008
The card installed easily in my 2008 Mac Pro and it will take two SSD's with the included extender. I added a Samsung 840 SSD card and was able to install OSX 10.7 and boot from it. The combination makes the computer much snappier and decreased the boot time from 25 seconds to 5 seconds.I have a few strange quirks with the OS install and have not managed to track them down yet.If you are maxed out on your conventional Hard Disc bays then I would recommend this card.
