The lights are a fantastic idea and they really work for giving an even and effective light for closets and closed spaces. HOWEVER, the adhesive on them is garbage. The controller/motion detector comes with a 3M velcro strip with adhesive but the velcro sticks to itself better than the adhesive sticks to the plastic or the wall. The strip itself is held up by some sort of 3M double-sided tape but the tape sticks to its backing better than the plastic so it's really easy to accidentally take the tape off the strip.I ordered two of these and both have continuously fell down. My solution: use real 3M velcro command strips on the controller so that it actually sticks to the wall and then use clear packing tape to tape the light strip to where ever you want it. I still used the double-sided tape as well but with the expectation that it would fail and that it would only really be useful for temporarily holding up the light strip until I could get some real tape. You might also try better double-sided tape or more command strips but the packing tape seems to work just fine for me.

I was initially looking for those dome press on lights to add some lighting in my closet, and came upon these in my Amazon search instead and I am so glad I found them. What a fantastic item! You can switch between manual (push the button to turn on/off) and auto (goes on/ off based on motion). They take 4 AAA batteries and the compartment sticks to the wall, then has velcro attached for easy on & off when batteries need to be changed. The lights are super bright. My closet space is roughly 8' W x 7' H x 2' D. I bought the 2 pack of lights, but 1 alone would have been enough to light up the space. It took less than 2 minutes to stick both rolls.ONE THING TO NOTE - Having read previous reviews, I was aware that the backing sticky tape had come off for a few people, so I knew going in to be gentle when taking the paper off. The end of the tape was lifted a tiny bit and I could see how it would be easy to remove the sticky side altogether. Just be gentle when starting it and there will be no problems. I would definitely recommend this over any other lighting option for closets - and I searched through a LOT before making a purchase.

Used it on a deep shelf where I keep my jewelry. Now everything is nicely illuminated since the overhead light didn’t help much. Super easy to put up. The strip actually slides perfectly into those smallest 3M command hooks so I used them instead of the sticky strip in case I want to move it around. Motion sensor works great. The light is very bright.I might get a few more for other shelves!

I had a horrible experience with these lights. After reading the directions that came with these lights. I put brand new batteries into the battery pack. Setting the battery pack aside to get the lights to plug the cord into the battery pack. As I’m doing I notice it smells like somethings burning. I realize it’s the battery pack, pick it up and it’s so warm it almost burns me. All this happened while the battery pack was off! I ordered to packs with the intentions of placing them in a closet. I couldn’t help but think what if I had done as I planned to and this happened when I was away or sleep. I’m grateful it didn’t come to that. The photos I’ve posted show what the battery pack looked like after it overheated.

The lights are great. I wish these had existed when I moved into a hundred-year-old condo twenty years ago. I now have these in long dark closets and under stairs where you used to have to make a costly electrical light or outlet installation and they are terrific, also have them in a fold-down desk and some chests. They save a lot of space by not having to put lamps around. They stay on for about 15 seconds, wish maybe for 5 more seconds. Purchased a rechargeable battery kit which is the best thing you can do for this product, I use them heavily and batteries lasted for 3-4 weeks.Problem? Sticky strips do not work at all. Backing paper and supposedly sticky strips practically fell of by themselves and there was nothing sticky either on light strips or on motion sensors, or on the backing paper either for that matter. I had to purchase double sided tape before I could begin to install or use. Did not yank or otherwise remove paper from backing roughly, quite the contrary.

They're not that bright, at least not as bright as the photos the other customers' reviews depict. Yes, I've used new batteries! The length of the strips was laughable. It's 39.37" according to the item description, but when I put it up in my 5 foot closet, it looked like it was a job half done. Maybe I should have bought a full reel of led strip lighting and have it plugged in. At least that way, I could trim off the excess that I am not using and my closet will be fully lit! In this case, these strips hardly brightened my closet. Oh, the motion sensors worked ok. They go off after a few seconds and you will have to wave or flail your hands to reactivate the lights. I had to do that quite a few times within the minute I spent looking for my jeans.

friggin awesome. seriously these work great i put one under kitchen cabinets soi could see kurig panels and it was way more brighter than i excpected the 3m actually stuck awesome not weak at all, the sensor remore has velcro and that works great too goes on as soon as i enter the area way before i need it too bonus. came w 2 (correction), i said in my previous review it came with 3 strips its 2. sorry still awesome) good size strips two sensors, 30 bux its a bit up there but hey as long as it fires on all cylinders im good w that price, no doubt

I decided to wait a to write a review to truly see the quality of these lights. I purchased them back in February and they are no longer working. I’ve changed the batteries time and time again and nothing.When they did light up, my closet looked amazing.. I mean I could actually see. But now it’s a continuous investment if these in reality don’t have a long term life.So disappointed.
