New Cat Condos Real Wood and Carpeted Cat Tree, Speckled

Product came just as described and arrived earlier than expected. It’s easy to put together (5-10 minutes) and seems to be sturdy (for now). I’m hopeful it’ll at least last a year with 2 very active kitties. The top bed seems to screw in a little off so you have to carefully over screw it until it faces the same way shown in the picture, which could cause issues down the line. I typically see these types of cat trees for around 200$ or more so I think for the price this is a pretty good cat tree!

I ordered a different cat tree that was a lower price. When I received it I was not impressed with the quality. It was a thin felt-like material without any sort of cushioning. I assembled it anyway only to realize that it was not very sturdy. I took it apart and sent it back. I ordered THIS UNIT as a replacement and it is FANTASTIC! It is actual carpeting, was super easy to assemble (2 minutes) and is very sturdy and feels durable. It costs a little more, but is worth it!

The carpet is a bit cheap; leaves a lot of pieces after they scratch it. I also had to add weight plates on the base. The cats launch off the top knocking it over 4 times in the first two days. The weights solved that. I will make a base stand attached and slide the plates under it eventually.

Easy to assemble and cats love. Win win.

I was able to purchase this cat tree through Amazon's like new/used option. Since I live in Hawaii, I was unable to get it shipped here as "new"but was able to get it this way by paying shipping. This cat tree is sturdy and well built. The posts are made of solid wood, not cardboard as are the nesting beds. The design has changed where assembly only takes a few minutes since the pieces just screw in. The beds come nested inside one another along with a post and the base along with a bed are all in one piece. The box it arrives on is pretty compact. Best of all, my cats LOVE this cat tree. It is easy for them to navigate the different levels and the easy assembly makes this tree highly recommended!

I was shocked and dismayed at the terrible quality of this cat tree, especially since I've purchased several others of the same brand in the past, and though the carpeting and rope weren't very durable, they were solid and had wooden posts instead of cardboard tubes like so many others currently on the market. The one I received today, and promptly boxed up to send back, was awful. It had shag carpeting which had a strong chemical smell, and many long strings sticking out here and there, which I promptly cut off before my cats ate them (and they would've). There was a sharp staple sticking out on the rim of one of the platforms that gave me a nasty puncture in my finger. I still intended to keep it, hoping the smell would air out until I put it together and one of the platforms remained wobbly, even though I tightened it till it stopped turning. The wood post must have had a crack in it because it leaned a bit and when one of my cats jumped on it, it snapped and the platform fell over with a chunk of wood from the pole stuck on the screw. It's too bad the quality has gone downhill. My cats really like the previous ones I bought but now I'll have to find another USA made source.

Better late than never on for a review. I have 3 cats - a 7lb senior and two 2 monster sized 2 year olds, Izyy (15lbs) is all butt and Loki (13lbs) is so long he can put his reach the top of the countertop no problem. The 2 youngins love to chase and play so I needed to make sure what I got was not going to tip over which is why I went for a cat tree as opposed to a tower. For the first 6 months this cat tree was perfect. Each level was big enough to fit even Izzy's monster barrel body although Loki's feet did hang over the edge a bit. The coveted spot was of course the top so they could look out the window and despite all the wrestling around and battles for the pole position, at no time did they ever get this tree to tip over. The problem began when the pole to the top started leaning. I was constantly having to tighten it back up so it would stay upright. After about 2 months the second level pole joined in on the leaning. No amount of tightening or adjusting worked. We started placing bets on how long it would be before the pole would finally collapse. I've tried everything to to pull the 2 poles together to keep the structure integrity together - rope, tie-wrap, even duct tape. I finally gave up after Loki climbed into the top cubby and it was leaning a full 10 inches away from the window sill. Short of bolting the cubby to the wall it was never going to stand upright again. Now for a word about the carpet. Izzy is a over-the-top scratcher and really goes to town when it comes to clawing on her scratching posts. I've got a 2nd carpeted cat platform that I have had 16 years and only now is it starting to shred. This cat tree didn't make it to 4 months before it started shedding carpet fibers. The jute cording on it is nice and thick and has held up well to all her clawing. But the carpet is obviously while long was obviously not dense or high quality. I am constantly having to vacuum and trim carpet threads. I'm giving this 3 stars because overall, this was a great cat tree until it wasn't. It really started out as a 5 star purchase and would have stayed that way had it not started falling about within the first 6 months. I have a second cat platform and it has held out rock solid (no carpet shedding or leaning) for 16 years and through 5 different cats so it is possible to make a sturdy good quality cat structure. I would have happily gotten another one of those if they still made them. Back on the hunt for another cat tree.

Our cats really enjoy this tree! It seems to be holding up well, with a reasonable amount of fiber shredding from scratching, but no major holes showing up in the posts yet. The base is large and heavy, so we don't have to worry about keeping hand weights or other items on the base to make sure it doesn't tip over when our chubby furballs jump into it. The circular bed areas are large and deep, and our cats are big fans of them. One thing to keep in mind is this may not work great for older cats - There's no flat platforms and the positioning of the beds can make it a little challenging to get up the tree. Both of my cats are four and can get up and down it reasonably easily, but occasionally mis-judge their jumps trying to get to the second level. Overall, I would still definitely recommend this tree, but it may not be a good fit if your cat isn't the best at jumping.
