Q: What are the dimensions of the different sizes?

I just measured mine for you. 6" X 4" high, 6"X3" high, 5"X3" high. The two biggest hold a ball winder ball nicely. I can put in each bowl so I can work two knitting/crocheting at the same time. I repeat, one of the bowls was broken. I used wood glue to glue it back. The gluing was worth doing since the bowls are very pretty and quite reasonable. I spin my own yarn so my ball size is not standard. Hey, this industry is supporting some workers in India.

I'm sorry, but it sounds like yours might have a defect. I now have three of these yarn bowls and there is no smell whatsoever in any of them.
