Great little tarp. Strongly recommend.
TLDR; Great value, strong, light, waterproof. Much better than I was expecting. I’ve been backpacking for 30 years, and have never carried a tarp into the woods to use as a secondary rainfly. I never thought the extra bulk would be worth it beyond what comes with my tent. I finally decided to go for it with this one because of its light weight and small storage size. I set it up in the Algonquin Highlands in Ontario, where my wife and I were spending a couple nights. Used it to cover our cooking area a few steps away from our tent. Set up was easy, and I can see the possibility for versatile angles and heights. I built this one high enough to walk under, so the low sides were suspended two or three feet off the ground, and the ridge line at like five or six feet high. So a big thunder storm comes through….very windy, but not quite a microburst. We dive into our tent, and im thinking there’s no way this tarp from Amazon is staying in place. Not only did it stay (both ridge line ties plus four stakes), but there was still a very distinct dry spot under the tarp. We could have sheltered under it and still stayed reasonably dry. This tarp definitely gets the award for hero of the trip.

Worth the purchase
This is a high-quality, versatile product that performs well across a wide range of applications. One standout feature is its packability—it consistently fits back into its original storage sack without the usual hassle, which alone makes it easy to recommend. The construction is lightweight yet durable, with materials that feel robust and well-engineered. Waterproof performance is excellent, providing full protection even in wet conditions. The seams are tightly constructed and properly finished, with no signs of fraying or weakness. It also includes a sufficient number of securement points, allowing for a tight, stable setup that prevents excess movement or flapping. This contributes to both its performance and overall clean, streamlined appearance when deployed. Overall, the combination of thoughtful design, reliable materials, and ease of use makes this a highly dependable and user-friendly product.

My go-to tarp for new scouts interested in hammock camping
This is an excellent entry level tarp for hammock camping. I own 4 of the standard size and 1 ultralight all purchased 5-6 years ago with typically about 30-40 camping nights per year. Get the standard shape. The ultralight is diamond shaped, barely covers the hammock especially if you sleep diagonally, and is only fully protective if the rain is coming straight down which it seldom does on mountaintops. The standard size is hexagonal, gives great coverage over your hammock especially if you use a structural ridge line, and if you stake it tight and narrow gives you protection against wind and blowing rain. If you prop one side with trekking poles you get a wonderful covered area to cook and socialize in. I have camped with multiple scouts and others who have tried the ENO pro which, while slightly lighter, barely covers your hammock and is not big enough to do anything about the wind. I have also had a hammock tear while on a multi-day canoe trek. Because of the diamond shape this fly could make a ground shelter against a tree that almost completely enclosed me. Pros - It is wide enough to fully cover you for rain even if there is wind. - Extra width also means that when you stake it tight its edges are below your hammock blocking the wind. - It is simple and intuitive enough for new scouts or novice campers to use - It is at a price point where you can buy several for the family/troop - It is durable. The material does not run easily. One of my tarps had a stick puncture repair with needle and thread 3 years ago and is still does not leak and is in regular use and is usually my personal tarp. - The bag is waterproof, critical if you are backpacking and have to put it in your pack wet. Cons - It is heavier than higher priced hammock tarps. - The hexagonal shape gives great protection from winds from the sides but does not give protection for winds from the head or feet. I am happy with the quality of products from this company. I own one of their hammocks, 4 standard tarps, one ultralight tarp, a dozen hammock straps, and many silnylon bags. All of their products have shown quality and every one of these except my ultralight tarp have been in regular use for at least 3-5 years without failing.

Great basic tarp at a decent price
I used this tarp for a week-long camping trip with my ENO Singlenest hammock. I had some difficulty setting it up as I did so in moderate wind as a storm was blowing in. I did get wet the first night I used it, but when I inspected everything in daylight, I realized this was due to not adjusting the tarp over my hammock correctly, letting rain fall directly on the exposed edge of my hammock. After adjusting, the tarp kept the rain off perfectly. The system they have for adding tension to the tarp works very well, but you will want to make sure that you pull the line through a bit and tie an overhand knot, otherwise the cord can slip out while you adjusting the tension. It’s not too difficult to reinsert the cord, but it is annoying when it slips out on you the first time. Each guy line gives ample length for a variety of configurations. I wish the cordage was made out of a lighter color, however, as I found it difficult to see in the dark. The tent stakes that were included are decent aluminum pegs, similar to MSR Groundhog pegs, though sadly not as robust. I managed to bend one peg as I was trying to push it in with my foot. The other three went in cleanly and the reflective strands in the pull loop kept me from tripping over the line in the dark more than once. I did have one tent peg come out of the ground on its own, but this was due to the soil it was inserted into being lose, rather than an issue with the peg. Overall I can recommend this product as a decent starter tarp for hammock camping. It’s not overly expensive and will give you a good entry point before dropping larger sums on other tarp options.

Fantastic
Fantastic! I've been hammocking a very long time and I've had dozens of hammocks and half as many tarps. From the original rectangle blue hardware store tarp to a $600+ yobo hive tarp from Dutch. This is a very good setup. Lineloc 3 at all 6 corners for maximum adjustability. Grosgrain reinforcements along all edges, quantity stakes, and a bag that fits. It's a pretty heavy duty material which probably disqualifies it for the ultralight people but for everyone else it just means more durability I plan to add a continuous Ridgeline with nama claws, and I tied a section of shock cord onto the guylines to add some give in case of strong winds. Otherwise, no changes needed, and I'm someone who always customizes his tarps Tested in a pretty heavy down pour and came out completely dry even in my 12ft chameleon wide body with my feet sticking out pretty far

Robust, well designed product.
Excellent tarp. The ability to adjust the line at the point of attachment to the tarp is magic. It easily survived heavy wind and torrents of rain - we stayed dry!

Quality Hex Tarp
This is a good, basic tarp for hammock camping. It is a 11 x 9 hex cut tarp, with four stakes, guylines, and a stuff sack. The material is a nice quality, being thick enough to be durable. Many wouldn’t want to take it backpacking, opting for the lighter weight version, but this isn’t that much heavier, and might provide extra durability good for scouts. The fabric is waterproof, and the ridge seam is taped, to be waterproof. The ridge seam is also sewn to provide extra strength, acting like a continuous ridgeline. The tie-out points are all *well* reinforced, and each has a lineloc, for easy adjustment using the provided guylines, and a reinforced gap that would give you the option to prop it up with a stick, a paddle, a hiking pole, etc.. It’s well designed and provides options for a good setup. The hex cut gives the user more coverage and protection than a diamond tarp (which is shown in some of the pictures). The guyline cord might be reflective. I’ve hit it with a flashlight, and if it’s reflective, it’s pretty weakly so. The stakes have cord ties that also may be reflective, but if that matters to you, I’d switch it out. The cords do make it easier to pull the stakes out. The manufacturer does provide cordage and adjusters, so you should be ready to set up the tarp immediately. The stakes are small, and work. Those who have favorite stakes should probably bring extras of those. It comes in a number of different colors, including some that let you blend into the background, and others that are bright and colorful. Overall, it’s a durable, well designed tarp setup, at a good price, that should offer years of use.

Best addition to my hammock backpacking setup.
I was hesitant at first about using this rain fly for my hammock backing trips, but now it’s the best purchase I’ve made this year. Like most I wanted one of the ENO rain flys but not for the ENO price. This was the next best thing, and had decent reviews and I’ll add another! I’ve used this in several rainstorms during backpacking trips and stayed totally dry, the only thing I noticed was there was some slight sagging when it’s wet, but that was easily fixed by tightening it up a bit. It’s easy for the most part to put up, but I do recommend testing it out first before going on any trips. There is a bit of a learning curve but once you get it down it’s easy. I also suggest you keeps the paracord neat and organized when you put it away. The ground stakes are awesome! Super light weight, super strong. When you fold is back into it’s stuff sack (and I REALLY recommend folding it, not stuffing it) I do find it’s hard to perfectly fit it back into its sack, but I manage. Color is accurate and very cute!

Genial

good size for my 11ft hammock
I was able to give this a good test. I would recommend, the taped seams and overall construction is well made. each tie off point has some great adjustment toggles,
