It is a cream. For the first three weeks, you need to use it once a day, best in the morning. With a dry hair, you need to rub your scull with an amount that you decide on. You need to ensure that all the hair is wet with the cream. After the first three weeks, you can do the same application method once or twice a week. By the way, In my case, my hair did not turn black. Actually it turned dark brown, which i am ok with.
