Behaviour Mattes Series
Delightful and well thought out story by a highly qualified author that illustrates why its important to understand or control certain behaviours that some young children struggle with at times. Also easy to follow with some extra discussion - my daughter really responded to these books and her teacher even borrowed the set for class story time too.

Just right for angry toddlers!!
This book is amazing, my 3 year old loves it. Not only does it give good strategies for not having tantrums, but when we read it she says how much better she feels because Tiger is like her and she doesn't feel so sad that she's the only one who gets angry! Amazing, looking at others in this series now.

Worked for us
It could be a coincidence, but two reads of the book and a week or so of telling my daughter as a melt down started “don’t be like the tiger” her tantrums improved massively.Haven’t needed to read it again since so money well spent!

Superb book to help explain anger effects children. Well written , easy for child to understand the concepts
Very easy to understand. Highly recommend,. 4 yr olds enjoyed it & immediately understand concepts. Nice positive message. This would be a top 5 book for children having anger issues post abuse. Also recommend What every parent needs to know, Margot Sutherland & a Bag of Worries

Limited
The start of this book was great. A tiger who throws scary tantrums when he feels angry However the “ taking a deep breathe” strategy (discussed in the story) isn’t particularly effective and so although it gave us a chance to talk about “feeling angry” it didn’t offer our son any support with how to cope with these feelings. The back pages do talk about how to develop this as part of a group discussion so it may work in a preschool or classroom situation but not especially helpful as a home book.

Great for kids going through an aggressive stage
Great for kids going through an aggressive stage. He requests it when he is feeling a bit out of control. I change some of the words when reading it to make it appropriate for his behaviour and words we use day to day....instead of 'cross' I say 'angry' because thats what we say in our house. And instead of throwing himself on the ground (which my child doesnt do) I say he throws something (which he does) :)
