Import Fees rip-off?
The goods were as described, the purchase from Amazon's Global Store not so impressive. An 'Import Fees deposit' of £3.34 was charged on goods valued at £12.86, well below HMRC's threshold of £15 on goods from abroad. Apparently it will be some time before it is determined if I am due a refund for a charge which surely should not have been made in the first place? How hard can it be to include in the code controlling billing a line something like 'if value of goods < STG £15 then import fees deposit charge = 0'?
