I’m glad I bought these because a few weeks ago I couldn’t get her to leave the pool steps, even with a life vest on and me holding her in my arms. With these she feels comfortable enough to jump right in the pool on her own (which is a bit frightening but the vest does’t a good job of keeping her head above water). Obviously you need to stay close and keep an eye on your child in the water even with these wings on because a child can drown in a short moment and it happens a lot more frequently than you might expect but overall these are very safe. I wanted to take her to the pool, but my own mom was quite worried about her safety since she is in the beginning stages of learning how to swim. She’s also not tall enough to stand with her head above water in a 3’ 6’’ shallow end. So, I bought this! And it worked perfectly. It is coast guard approved so you can take it to the pool even if they restrict regular floats, and it allowed her to go wherever she wanted in the pool with ease.
