Love!
Very pleased and fairly priced! I’m new to gouache but usually only use white gouache for watercolour paintings. I thought I’d give a full set of colours a try and bought this Monte Mart set because they have very good reviews. I didn’t want to pay more as a beginner to gouache incase I didn’t like using it. I’m impressed, the colours and consistency is great. A little goes a long way, they’re easy to use and dry quite quickly. Definitely suitable for beginners and I feel they’re quite fun to use. The only thing I’m not so keen on is the matte finish, but I still like them and would buy this set again. Overall I’m extremely happy!

Very good value, good quality
Absolutely great set of gouache. Massive amount of colours, all worth exploring and experimenting with. I note one grumbleweed chucked out all the pinks. I leeerve the off pinks, the funny coloured cobalt and the greys. I pick three ' prumaries' at a time and mix all shades from these adding white as needed. When I say primary, I mean in red type hue, one yellow type hue and one blue type hue. I make up secondary and tertiary colours then a dirty mix of all three primaries that I can add back in. You get the picture. The surface appears non sticky and durable. They are fairly thick but don't expect Winsor and Newton thickness. You can also think them to watercolour consistency. I use them direct to paper, over casein gesso and on cotton. All very beautiful. I stencil them or paint direct. I originally bought them as a base for oil pastel and pastel but they are very nice in their own right. I am a mixed media artist.

Fabulous vibrant gouache paints
Love these paints. I had Himi gouache which I found to be not so good. These are so vibrant, easy to use and easy to mix. I literally paint something everyday as I want to use these paints. Good price point too. FYI I am a beginner and would definitely recommend these over him gouache.

Middle of the road quality, budget price, broadly satisfactory overall
This set is strictly for beginners, enthusiasts or those wanting to practice/try-out ideas in order to conserve their more expensive paints. Certainly the quality is much better than the usual chain store budget offerings and better than the 'simple' grade gouache set produced by a well known UK manufacturer (who should really know better than to pollute their brand with dross). The good..... They are generally not chalky (apart from a few that I will come to). Most have good colour saturation and opacity and handle reasonably well. Most of the critical hues are single pigment. The Titanium white is pretty good too (If you give it a stir in the tube). Even if you chuck half a dozen away, you are still getting an acceptable set of paints for around a pound per tube. The bad..... All the reds and yellows are fugitive to some degree, so that defines the set as for 'practice'. There are some truly gruesome colours (the pinks mainly but also a totally unacceptable, chalky 3 hue non -'viridian' . Why not just provide a simple, decent phthalo green instead of some ghastly mash up? I found the yellows a little on the streaky/gummy side and not quite as opaque as the other hues, but acceptable (to be fair I was a bit lazy and just brushed the paint out of the tube direct to swatch card, possibly a reason). However, just mixing PY3 and PY1 to provide a tube of light yellow was also a pretty cheapskate offer. Their Prussian blue is actually Phthalo blue- so why not call it what it really is? The real horror is the Cobalt and Cerulean blues, Ultramarine and Phthalo blue respectively, with a load of Titanium white thrown in... Ugh! just plain chalky and fugly. I know you can't expect genuine Cobalt blue for a pound a tube, but surely there must be better solution than pastelising with white?. In the end, I binned four tubes (two pinks and two greens). Leaving me with 20 more or less useful colours. Considering the modest price and the intended use, the purchase is satisfactory. The fugly blues will have to stay for the time being to see if I can either 'tweek' them in use or replace them with something less nasty.

Good paint for the price.
Nice creamy paints that are quite pigment rich and nice to use . Good value.

Excellent!
The quality is really great for the price point, I’ve used another brand of cheap gouache before and it was a painful experience to say the least, especially given the nature of gouache paint itself. This Meeden set is a delight to use, amazing selection of colours if mixing isn’t of interest, as well as a great stepping stone to create convenience mixes. From my experience there hasn’t been any binder separation which is a big win, even some of my premium gouache has separation! There is no unpleasant smell, it reactivates easily without cracking or losing opacity too much, opaque coverage from tube as expected from gouache - though some colours which are more transparent by nature, can’t be blamed on the paint itself -e.g yellow foreground leaves in the case of the autumn woods I’ve painted. All in all I think it’s a brilliant product that works so well, on par with some professional gouache too. I think it’s great for use as a hobby.

I love them!
Had to write to agree with the other reviews, this paint is really very good. For such a cheap set of 24 at £15, this paint is a bargain. I actually wanted pans as they are so easy to use but actually, I'm glad I got the tubes as they are such a nice set it's simple to squeeze out a bit of colour on a palette, which U can always reuse. I have a shallow ice trying with a lid that I use to keep them fresher Altho even when they hardened after using, they reconstituted well enough. I love the Matt finish, it's unlike any other paint and it is brilliant for making designs and patterns , layering like acrylic but watering down like watercolours also. The range of colours is beautiful, peaches and pinks, various reds and crimsons, blues and yellows, its all there. And I made swatches of some really lovely greys. So if U want to start out with gouche, or need a new set, I really think you'll be happy with these. I honestly can't fault them. Altho U will need a larger white at some stage as one tends to use a lot of white with gouche. Definitely recommend this set. Size is plenty for sketchbook images and small -medium paintings.

Excellent and affordable set of Guoache Paints.
As an established full time fine artist and illustrator I normally use well known brands of paint but thought I'd try these as I had encountered mixed reviews. And surprisingly, I find them really good and excellent value for money so I will continue using them. However, I don't know how well they photograph yet and which is important for a professional artist. But if you just want a good selection of Guoache paints for a reasonable price then I'd say these are very good.

Nice paints
These paints go on nicely and dry a nice matte. I wish some of their names matched their colors better, but ultimately I suppose the names aren't the biggest deal. They seem decent quality for the price and will work well for my design sketches and for my kids.

Tubes blanc et noir. Ne sont pas assez présents.
Bonjour. Je pense qu'il faudrait mettre un peu plus de tubes de noir et de blanc. Car ce sont des nuances que l'on se sert beaucoup plus. Sinon les couleurs sont très belles. Merci beaucoup.

Buena calidad, pigmentos vibranres

Ma all'acquisto va valutata).

All das steckt in diesem Set.
