Good quality, does what it should.
Durability; well, it's been going for a couple of hours now and so far so good, it appears to be very well made and I'm hopeful that it'll have a long and useful stay in our house. It's whisper quiet, I can only just hear it when there's no other background noise. Easy to use; couldn't be simpler, place in one of a number of correct locations on your stove top and it blows the warm air in to the room rather than it going into the fireplace and up the chimney. Heat distribution; too early to comment really after only a few hours use but I think it is working well and, once I get more used to it and exactly where best to position it I'm confident it'll have been a worthwhile purchase.

every fire place needs one
Pushes the heat into the room. Looks expensive. Works great.

excellent product but too big for a small stove.
Very powerful and quiet fan. And much more efficient than the 2 and 3 fin versions but surprisingly big and too big to fit on top of my 4Kw single door stove. The instructions state that it must be placed to the side of the flue pipe and not in front and there is not enough room for the fan to be in this location. This fan is 180mm wide and for it to look neat and not overhang your stove you would need 200mm (20cm or 8") of surface either side of your flue. I have retuned it and bought the mini version from the same manufacturer as it is only 125mm wide.

Does what it says on the advert and more!
I have had a woodburning stove for some years now and have tried different fans, I use two on my stove. The room is 25x20 ,so it's large. The last fan I had was a top of the range Hansa Scirocco Stove Fan which lasted for about two and a half years and cost £140! I also have and use a Valliant fan which cost about £75. Okay so I feel I can review this fan with knowledge. This Flue Systems Eco 4 fan is brilliant for the money. It outperforms in every way both of the other fans I have mentioned previously and at a fraction of the price. It starts up very quickly and really does push the heat out into the room. It runs silently and the fan blades spin smoothly with no oscillation. Once it gets into top gear the fan spins at very high speed. You can really save on fuel because this fan is so efficient. There's not much more I can say about this stove fan except that I have been using it all winter and I am very pleased with every aspect of it. Time will tell if it was a good buy, but I do expect it to last. You can tell it has quality as soon as you pick it up. Also at the price it wont break the bank to buy another. I noticed that there seem to be a few cheap and nasty chinese copies of this stove fan for sale on Amazon which I personally would not entertain. Flue Systems are an established company who I think invented this particular fan. I would like to give it 6 stars but there are only 5 on offer!

Item arrived promptly and was exactly as described. Solid construction and pleasing design. Started operating at about 100 degrees C and as I write is wafting warm air through our lounge. Very little noise, more a quiet hum. I had very limited space on top of the stove (24cm) so was careful to read all product details. Contrary to the answered question re bimetallic strip, this item HAS a bimetallic strip which lifts the base at temperatures above 250 degrees C. I will not be getting my stove that hot so cannot comment on how far the base lifts. I'm sure the company would provide this information. This is a small fan, so best suited to stoves with limited space. Excellent product but obviously doesn't move as much air as the bigger fans.

Great stove fan that really does work!
Well I spent an age trying to work out if a stove fan would really work. I was rather sceptical to say the least however in the end I did some homework and bought this one. Well its GREAT! The fan starts at a low temperature and even though our stove in in an old fire hearth with a low top, this fitted and really does blow the hot air out into the room instead of letting it just roll up the fire breast. Its good quality, good value for money (its is no where near the most expensive you can get) and it does work. I initially thought about buying one for the other side of my stove however she who must be obeyed said it would make the room too hot - so that is a recommendation in itself!

Very disappointed only lasted 1 year guarantee date
This fan worked well at first but as it started to get to the 1 year guarantee date it started spinning very slowly and sometimes wouldn’t spin at all. Also the finish is very poor and started to look scruffy after a first few uses and looks like the heat is affecting the outer layer of the fan. The fan has always been used according to the manufacturer instructions and not been used if the stove exceeding 340 degrees. Very disappointed and now trying to find an alternative as I’m not spending another £30 - this is the 2nd one I’ve purchased so should have learnt my lesson the first time.
