The best product EVER for getting rid of red mite
Never in my years of keeping chickens have I had red mite before, so imagine my horror when opening the coop doors to find the place overrun with them. So, I did my research to find the best possible way of getting rid of them as quickly and effectively as possible. I read all sorts, mostly conflicting evidence, and guidance. I settled for a spray and powder. I emptied the coop of all bedding I saturated the place, thousands of them appeared, so I jet washed and sprayed again. Satisfied with myself, the chickens went to bed. Next morning horror again, red mites everywhere. So, the felt came of the roof, the roof came off, the floor was lifted, and I sprayed every nook and cranny, jet washed, sprayed, jet washed, sprayed and finally I thought I was rid of them. I caught all the chickens, no easy feat, and gave them a lovely spa rubbing the powder all over them, admittedly I got more of it over me, for some odd reason they did not enjoy their spa treatment. Chickens reluctantly went to bed, I think the smell really put them off, that and it was the cleanest chicken coop they had ever seen. Morning came, feeling positive I opened the coop door and screamed with frustration and horror, they were still there in their droves. Back to the drawing board, I read more articles until I came across a person, I will call the Chicken Champ and he, having been through the same debacle as I had, recommended DIATOMACEOUS EARTH. I started again, rubbing the powder all over the coop and mixing it with their bedding and feed as per the instructions. They also had a second spa treatment, worse this time as they knew what was coming, one thing is for sure I won’t get red mite. As I write this review, I am at day 8. NOT ONE mite in my coop since I have used this miracle grey powder. It hasn’t disturbed the chickens and they are laying again. If only I had come across the Chicken Champ earlier, I could have saved myself a fortune and a lot of stress and anguish. I would highly recommend this product, but get in there early because I intend to buy as much as possible to ensure I NEVER have to go through this again

Slugs, snails, sawfly dispatched
Thrush generally keep the slugs and snails in check in my garden. I bought it mainly for sawfly. It does kill and or deter slugs and snails. I’ve tried it on ants, hard to tell if it works, I’m not about to hunt for dead ants. Apparently it’s not harmful to earthworms . It does work on sawfly on Solomon’s seal but you do need to make sure it is actually on the caterpillars. They dehydrate and shrivel up so it did work but miss one and it will carry on chomping. I put it inside an old plastic hair dye bottle with a narrow spout so that I could puff it onto the plant. That works but you do need to unblock the spout regularly as the powder does have a tendency to stick together. Overall: it works.

Flea Treatment
Dogs managed to pick up fleas from dog kennels on a ferry crossing (we believe). Stubborn rascals to get rid off, this product formed part of our overall eradication strategy. Worked well in conjunction with other products - easily applied to our dogs coats which helped and likewise spreading same throughout the house. Won’t work miracles on its own but when combined with other methods that target eggs and larvae etc, a useful addition to the toolkit. Good value for money and would recommend.

Big bag of diatomaceous earth. Oh yeah!
Look, it’s a big baggie of diatomaceous earth that seems like great value to me. You want diatomaceous earth and have somewhere to store a small box, then go for it. Not sure what more I can tell you. I use it in the hen house and was tired of buying small bottles that were more expensive per gram and creating plastic waste so I bought this big baggie to save money and plastic waste. It’s a nice sturdy semi-opaque polythene-type baggie that comes neatly zip-tied, delivered inside a cardboard box. And the baggie is full of diatomaceous earth. Are you still seriously still reading this? Well, okay then. I made a puffer bottle out of an old plastic milkshake bottle, piercing the top with scissors (following all appropriate H&S procedures when handling the scissors) and then filling it about 3/4 full from the big baggie, so it puffs out the dusty stuff when I squeeze it. The specific choice of bottle ensured just the right amount of squeeziness and having a bottle that still returned to its original shape. Gotta think these things through before you commit to an idea. And hey presto I have a dusty mite-free hen house. Happy hens and happy me with my eggy breakfast.

Unsure
Don't know if this works. Used it in the garden. Very messy, goes everywhere especially if it's windy. Probably better to water it down and use a watering can. I just used it neat!! Bought it in as my dog I am sure was picking up fleas from my garden. We have a lot of cats come in to my garden and use it as a toilet!!!
